Texas Bowl Tailgate

Packing to head to Houston and have a parking pass that says the lot opens 4 hours before kickoff. REALLY hoping they have changed this to at least 8 hours! Was p!anning on taking the grill but 4 hours isn't worth all that. Anyone heard anything different?

I live in Houston and 4 hours before kickoff is the policy for tailgating at NRG Stadium.

They changed it from their usual four hours for the Wisconsin game. People started tailgating that morning but I don't know how early.

Here is the fan guide. Says lots open at 4 PM except for Platinum which opens at 3 PM. Page 16.

That is true for Wisconsin game. Friend of mine on Texas Bowl committee said now that bowl is profitable, Texans sticking their hands in the jar and messing things up. Bowl committee wanted to open up parking lots early, but Texans said NO.

Texans are having their own public tailgate starting at 4 and they don't want the parking lot tailgating because it would take their chance at making money away.

I thought this stadium policy was due to an ugly incident between Cowboys and Texans fans a few years back. Which would make it completely asinine for this game.
