Has anyone made reservations for hotels for the Tennessee game yet? If so where? Me and some buddies are trying to figure out where to stay that's relatively cheap.

I'm planning on it just because I know it will be cheaper.

In general, most hotels/motels will allow a reservation a year ahead of time. Many long time Tiger travelers reserve their rooms a year in advance. And your card is not charged till you check in in most cases. I'd find a place now & reserve it, cancelling later always an option. Check with someone who handles travel for the Alumi arse, as though they tend to go first class they should have a decent list to work off of for you. As long as you tell them you are an alum.

I went in 2011. Stayed in the smokies. Its not too far, and you will find SEC fans of all sorts walking around Gatlinburg. You can get rooms cheap.
I'm planning on going again

I think that depends on the charges and the availability of the court.

I am from Knoxville. There is a hotel row off the Cedar Bluff exit. Plenty of hotels to chose from and it's only like a 5-10 minute drive to the campus.

I'm booked about 5 miles from campus.

We are going to Gatlinburg for the week so we are just going to go up early and make the 45 minute drive to Knoxville

Sounds good looks like I'll be reserving now, the cedar road strip looks like a good option. Anyone know someone I could contact about alumni travel/tailgate groups, not that interested in traveling with a group as I'm coming from Chicago but I'm very interested in tagging along with an alumni tailgate on game day.

Plan on losing enough weight to where you are down to about 120 if you want to fit comfortably in your seat. Those are the tiniest bleacher seats I have ever seen...unless they have upgraded since last time.

We booked a cabin yesterday. Going to go up on the Wednesday before. That is your best bet. Knoxville has some sketchy areas. Stay either west or in the mountains if you can. AVOID NORTH KNOXVILLE.

If you do your research you can avoid the parkway in Pigeon Forge and that 45 min drive can turn into only about 15-20 down Chapman Hwy.

If you want the best of both worlds... check out the Maryville area. Easy to get into Knoxville but possible to wake up with mountain views.

Yeah, just type in Cedar Bluff Knoxville,TN and a bunch of hotels will pop up. Even go on google maps and you will see the long stretch of hotels in that area. Nice area of Knoxville as well.
