Best QB prospects as a group of any any SEC team. If the LSU defense shows up this season. Game over! LSU wins!

This is the time where everyone that has a top 15 team should be excited. Anything can happen.

LSU is clearly underrated with the sheer numbers returning (including 2 great QBs). 11-1 or 12-0 is certainly doable with the talent on the roster.

O line being a question mark is the only thing I can come up with now. I’m riding though!!

On a side note, we gotta have a RB step up this year.

The annual let’s see who the fourth team is going to be to compete with Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State.

College football has a glaring parity issue and a 12 team playoff isn’t going to be much better.

I keep getting flashbacks of Dalton Hilliard and Gary Janes. These young boyz in 2021 are going to step up. Two of our freshman RB’s are among the the top backs in the country. Just gotta prove it on the field.

First, I loss two parents to Covid in a week . I’ve stopped watching the depressing fake news on all sides, works wonders for my mentality. Tigers all the way!

That and im slightly concerned about our linebacker play and who will be the other 2 guys to step up next to Mike Jones.

This is why TD is such a draw also the comedy. Two biggest ? but could be a non issue if our assistant coaches step up.

With the all the top rated talent on LSU’s roster, I look at this more of a assistant coaches issue than the players.

I mean if your just looking for areas of concern, a bunch of new coaches considering O's track record with hires has to bring up at least a but of hesitation. The OL wasn't great last year.

But, I do think that Coach O was more diligent with his hires this time around. We'll see how it plays out. The team is super talented. He's done an outstanding job recruiting. The team is built to make a run. Gonna depend on how good the new hires are.

Thanks for such insightful post. This season more on the new coaches than the players. IMHO. Hopefully O nailed the hires

* Brennan. Johnson. Nussmeier. .......BUT

* NOT the best OL as a group of any SEC West team.

* Just lost the starting LT.

* Brand new "Panic Hire" OL Coach that hasn't had a single practice with the team and didn't prove shite during his one year stops at Florida, Missouri and Arkansas.

quote:

If the LSU defense shows up this season.

* No evidence as of yet that it will or will not be improved. Just because everybody desperately wants it to be improved, doesn't mean that it will. If you are thinking that it Certainly Can't Be Any Worse, then you're grasping at straws. New and Improved doesn't mean Good or Great, just better than the Worst Of All Time.

* The new DC has only a few years experience as a DC and that was over 10 years ago at a small Division 2 school. Coaching DB's is not the same as coordinating a Defense in the SEC West. There's no evidence that DJ can or can't do it when the going gets tough in the SEC and quick adjustments have to me made. LSU is no place for On The Job training.

Reality Check for all the Pump Lump Cheerleaders. It may all work out "Fine" and it may all just as easily regress into dysfunction. There's a very fine 51/49% probability of where it will fall; with a strong chance of many 45-40 We Win If We Get The Ball Last type games........

Coaching, QB, RB, Oline, TE, WR2-4, LB, & S are all major concerns.

Football is great. The woke NCAA and LSU Athletics department is what makes football unbearable.

Play the game and leave politics out of it and it would be fabulous. Wokeward isn't strong enough to let this happen.

I’m very excited like I am for every new season of LSU football. But I have to say that I didn’t pay enough attention to the red flags last year that I definitely should have. This year their are a lot of red flags as well. We have serious issues on this team like no proven RB, no proven receivers besides Boutte, 2 new starters at linebacker, one real TE that we actually recruited at TE. A QB battle that if won by MJ could leave us with only a true sophomore and true freshman in the QB room. An O line with 5 decent starters and maybe one solid backup in Bradford now that Wire has to start. Should be great at d line and corner, concerned about Safety because we have an injury prone Todd Harris, and Jay Ward who is new at the position. Half of our on field coaching staff is brand new and our OC and DC have never called plays. Yes, if everything goes right we have the talent to be really good, but we are a few injuries away from having a very lackluster season.
