Fun game, but losing Henderson on that catch hurt us after that. When Clayton scored the winner, I was buck wild. This was the week after losing 31-0 to BAMA and we had an offensive issue with Randall at the helm.

Losing mauck in 02 hurt us definitely. Thankfully the team responded well to it the next year.
Nick saban once said that it was the 21-20 loss arkansas in 02 that lit a fire under the team and coaching staff for 03.

Anyone remember why we played Ole Miss in BR 2 years in a row?

They reworked the SEC schedules in 2002. LSU played at Kentucky in 2001 and 2002. Kentucky used to be a permanent opponent until the SEC went to the schedule they used from 2002 until expansion.

Saban started Clausen against Ole Miss in 2002 because Clausen played "well" in the 4th against Alabama down 31-0 the week before. Clausen went about 2/14 for -2 yards and Marcus Randall came in and saved the day. LSU still controlled their destiny for the West.
