This was an embarrassment. I just hope the upcoming football final-4 selection committee does a better job.

Is this normal practice of a selection committee to choose before all games are played/decided?

Pretty much what happened in 2003 after USC beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl. AP didn't want to see another game played.

I suppose I haven't followed closely enough the past 2 weeks, but all weekend long ESPN was listing Vandy at no. 1 and LSU at no. 2. N. Carolina was 5. How does the selection committee justify the no. 5 as the no. 1 seed, and not only seeding Vandy over LSU, but also an Oregon St., after LSU won the SEC Tourney and beat the no. 1 seed. Could you imagine the uproar if after the no. 2 beat no. 1 in football and not only not move ahead, but got jumped by 2 other tams the same week? I am probably putting too much into what ESPN had beside the teams for rankings, and I know these seedings don't mean all that much in the overall picture for the top 8. But, if it is done at this level, what is going on with all the bubble teams?

Me too.

I guess at what point will we fully trust a panel of people to be fully unbiased and make sound decisions?

If it can happen in baseball, which realistically I guess is a second-tier sport in college, how can we expect it not to happen in football?

I guess the other thing is this:

In the ACC tournament the Tar Heels needed 14 innings to beat Clemson and 18 to defeat North Carolina State before they won the title with a 4-1 victory over Virginia Tech on Sunday.

Sure they didn't lose any of the games, but they also played a whole game and a half in extra innings...

It doesn't matter. Now is the time to go out and take the national title!

i cant stand you guys liking 4th. If they seeded wrong, then they seeded wrong. could care less who we play. Got to beat the best to be best, or i guess thats only in football.

You guys bitched ab 10, bitch ab basketball. All based off of a committee of biased fricks. football will be no diff.
