Mike Denbrock has coached for over 35 years.

In that time, he has been a "hot commodity" for 1 year. This offseason.

This is the epitome of being caught up in the moment.

Denbrock didn't recruit Nabers, BTJ.

Denbrock was not the main guy bringing in JD or Undewood.

Denbrock has never put together an offensive unit like this year in his entire career.

Guys, he is not the second coming of Christ.

He's an OC who did a good job this year, but was largely benefited by having a first round QB throwing it to 2 first round WRs. All he had to do was stay out of the way.

This is truly not near as big of a lose as you all seem to think it is.

Yeah.

He was a good OC but definitely not irreplaceable. I have no doubt Kelly makes an equal or better hire.

I'm old enough to remember last year and after the FSU game this year, everyone wanted him fired.

Also worth mentioning is the OL that helped make it happen for all of the above.

Pretty much. I could have been the OC this year for LSU and would have looked like a genius. Keeping Sloan is more important than keeping Denbrock IMO.

Hey OJ
I like the way you think. Now who will replace him at LSU?

Yes, multiple things can be true

Denbrock is a good OC

LSU's talent elevated him as an OC

There are other good OC's who can do the same

Yeah but would it be like LSU fans if they didn't jump off the bridge?

If Joe Sloan wants the job, you have to give him his shot. Otherwise he’s gone too.. and the QB development and recruiting that allegedly comes with him. I know he doesn’t have experience, but you have no choice.

It's not a good look to get pantsed by ND for one of your hottest commodities regardless of how elite he is.

Also not good to likely have to start from scratch with 2 new coordinators, new QB's, new WR, a new center, and probably a new starting running back.

You mean like when we stole that blue bloods all-time winningest head coach?

I think that's a pantsing much bigger than an OC who is now the "hot chick" for the first time in his life as he closes in on 60.
