Just curious if this is a permanent change or if the spot will be available again in the future. We have a large tailgate and a lot of people are used to coming there. Finding a new spot will be a fiasco.

Where is your tailgate spot? I don't see where you've ever told us.
I get irritated with people who think their tailgate is special and they ought to be exempt from rules. I lost my longtime tailgate spot near the Indian Mounds in 1999 when they erected the black posts. They had every right to do it, as we were squatters. I moved on with my life.
If the university is going to take over spots and make people pay, then take over the whole damn campus. Charge based on distance from the stadium. No more free rides.

Our spot is by the Indian mounds.
I do not think that my tailgate is special or that I should receive any special treatment. Just curious if they were fencing the area off temporarily because of the chance of rain or if it was permanent. I understand that lsu doesn't give a frick about my tailgate. Just trying to get some insight so I can prepare for the future.
