Is he worried about the dreadfully short career of a punter, full of pain and misery?

He's a sophomore.

He is about to turn 22 in January at the beginning of his 4th semester in college. I'd say that is significantly older than most of the people in his (football) class.

I graduated from LSU as a 21 year old. This kid is already older than I was in his 3rd semester in school compared to where I was at the conclusion of my 8th.

wat? Full of fail....

he's a junior in school.

he'll be 22 starting his 6th semester. A little old but not outrageous...

I brainfarted on his RS year.

It still doesnt negate the fact that he loathes school and sees his real potential as a long-term punter in the NFL.

I'm not supporting his possibile declaration for the draft, just trying to explain/deduce it so that it actually makes more sense to the average LSU fan on this board that will flip shite if he (a punter) left before his junior or senior seasons.

Know their age is equal to knowing what their eligibility is as a football player (Fr., RS Fr., So., etc.). What's so difficult about that?

Then how do you know he hates school?

its all good brah.

I understand thinking school sucks but it'd probably be in his best interests to stick around another year. And if he doesn't well, then we have Jamie Keehn anyway

Dude is damn campus legend @ LSU right now. He'll have more fun @ LSU next year than anywhere in the NFL as a rookie punter.

couldn't give two fricks if he leaves but some of those guys would be straight foolish to leave after this year unless they are happy with free agent / practice squad money.

Honestly Mills and Collins were both better than Simon this year. I wouldnt be upset if he declared for the draft.

At times they showed better ball skills/coverage... But I wouldn't hestitate to say that Simon is the best corner on our team and we would benefit greatly by having him come back another year to improve his stock which is very possible.

I'd also like to say that a couple of our 2013 corners coming in (White, Robinson) will IMO turn out to be better corners than everyone on our roster by the time they leave.

Oh for sure it would be nice to have him back. I personally think he should come back 1 more year. All im really trying to say is were really not going to be in bad shape if he does declare. Mills and Collins are very good corners and as you stated with Robinson, White and the other corners we have coming in from the 2013 recruinting class we'll be more than fine at the CB position for years.

Unless you are tight friends with Tharold Simon himself, which you aren't, then you can't be 99.8% sure of what the kid is going to do. He probably isn't even that sure.

Once again, 99.8 percent. No need to go into the extent of my relationship with the guy(nice assumption that I'm not "tight" with the guy though.

I'm tight with Les Miles.
