Would you rather spend the next 3-4 years watching LSU football slowly disintegrate at the hands of Special Ed or watch it rise from the ashes under the care of a new coach with vision and fire? No one in their right mind would pick the first option if they're being honest, some just don't want to admit it.

I will NEVER root against the Tigers, I just can't do it. But the silver lining if and when things continue to fall apart this season is that it will create urgency in the fan base and as a program, and it's clear we all need some urgency to get this program back on the right track.

That's what you don't get. None of us WANT this. We never wanted it, that's why the anti O sentiment was so strong to begin with.

Now that it's already happening...we NEED the quickest fix possible just to stay competitive. The past 12 months have already set us back at least 2 more years.

False

I hated this hire, but once it was made, I tried like hell to give him the benefit of the doubt. Less than halfway into the season, the team is cratering.

I acknowledge that it was time to move on beyond Miles, but he was still a 9-10 wins a year guy. We should have found the guy we wanted, and made the deal (unofficially of course), BEFORE we pulled the plug on Miles.

I guess we deserved what we got- you can the winningest coach in program history, following a 9 win season, in midseason for losing to 2 solid programs, that just wasn't a good look. If it was for Jimbo (or Harbaugh, Urban or Saban), ends justify the means.
If it was for Herman, Fleck or another up-and-comer, it's a bold but risky move.

If it's for Orgeron it's insanity.

False. If you actually care about our school and program, you should want this to end as soon as possible.

False: Take this bitch down hard. I don't want anyone to be able to limp away from this plane crash. Get it done quickly and move forward, but make sure the right people are released and are far away from the program before the repair process begins.

Rooting against the team, regardless of how pure your motives are, is being a bad fan.

Some of you gentlemen started doing that when Miles lost to Tennessee in 2005 (or earlier for the sin of being "not Saban") and finally got it last year.

But, go ahead and convince yourself you can want your team to lose and still be a fan of that team. (I'm not singling out you, OP, necessarily, just this brand of "fan" you're appealing to.)

Out of the way Pumpnut MA's. (Or somebody gonna get hurt)

No more patience. No more excuses.

Snow Peas has to go first.

Gotta take out the trash before ya clean the house up to sell!

LSU should have a man already picked out, (But I'm 99.9% sure they don't) and ready to take over immediately like Bama did with Byrne.............

False, as the answer is consistent with the Alleva sucks and made a terrible hire in O narrative. If you know O won't get it done, then the faster his exit the sooner our chances of turning this thing around.

For me, Alleva is the worst and we need to go Nebraska on him quickly. Joe Alleva should never been hired for the LSU A.D. job. O is a good dude, but the wrong man for the job.

False. We only want it to end quickly so that someone else can get it fixed and not cause the football program to be set back 6-8 years. So how would that make you a bad fan?

I'm a little leery of people who think they know what constitutes a 'true' fan.

I don't root against LSU. However I have to laugh when the wheels come off and we look horrible. I prefer to laugh instead of cry. The last thing I want to do is have a heart attack over the way this team is playing. I always want them to win but every loss does add a ray of hope that something will be done by someone who has the means to change the program.

Don't worry, the coaches and team are doing all they can to rip the band-aid off quickly. All I can do is laugh it off and say... 'Dayum we suck'.

Who wants to coach at LSU? Who wants to play at LSU with such a crappy fan base? I've been a fan all of my life but I'm sick of the crap. Many of you only support the Tigers when they are dong well. I don't like to see them play like this either. Do you really think all the negative comments help the team or recruiting?

I don't disagree with a lot of what you say, but we are fighting a losing battle with Alleva and Ed O and the faster they are gone the sooner this thing can be turned around.

We had to endure the 4 year too long of the miles decline, now we’re back having to hope for losses to finally get some positive correction. It was an enbarassment hiring this fool the quicker we can send him packing the better.

We absolutely must hire a proven big name winner this time though, no more bullshite hires.

Does a good fan accept one terrible year if it leads to the next move and a chance to be relevant again?

Or, does a good fan just defend bad decisions to the death only to watch the team languish in mediocrity (at best) for the next decade?
