vs. So Carolina

No pressure
Had a run game
Cocks terrible in coverage.

When he’s 8-20 vs Auburn come at me.

Miles won’t be 100% and O will put him in. Thats how desperate this team is.

such as?

I like the kid I just think it's nuts to say he should start over a healthy MB after 1 game. I am betting the coaches would prefer to bring him along slowly rather than just play him when they don't think he is ready

One of the biggest positives for Finley, and would've been for Johnson as well, is that they just finished High School. Meaning, they haven't had much time between their last live action. Yes I know its HS, but live reps matter. When you've pretty much sat the bench for 3 years, its hard to just groove back into the game. That's another big reason I think Finley looked comfortable. That, and the fact LSU has freakish weapons and a good run game against SC.

South Carolina’s defense was the best we have played this year. Just FYI.

At least it appears we have a capable game-ready QB behind Brennan.

What? Dude. Its sports. Its an 18 year old ball player. This has nothing to do with the Messiah.

What if he doesn't go 8-20 vs Auburn? What if - bear with me here - he plays well again? Will you be upset?

If you look objectively, ALL THREE of our QBs have strengths and weaknesses. Johnson can easily outrun Brennan and Finley, but we don’t know if he can pass effectively.

Finley can make a quick read in situations where the staff set him up with just a couple of decisions to make. He executed the hell out of it, but we need to see if he can handle the staff opening up more of the offense and make multiple reads in the pass game. He’s accurate short, but his few long balls Saturday weren’t. He adds durability and maybe better movement in the pocket, but realistically, Finley is only a real running threat in short yardage and goal line situations. However, that is something that Brennan can’t do and it is an advantage.

Brennan has a greater mastery of the entire offense and the more accurate deep ball. He could still stand to shave another half second off some reads, but he’s improved a lot on his performance vs State. He’s also taken good care of the ball, with a solid 11-3 TD ratio.

So all three QBs possess skills that the other does not have. None of them is complete based on what we’ve seen. Brennan’s biggest advantages are the more accurate mid-range and deep balls, knowledge of the offense and a little more experience. That’s enough to keep him the starter for now.

Maybe Finley closes those gaps, maybe not. He will likely have another opportunity this weekend. If he takes another step forward, then we have a real discussion. Until then, just let it play out.

I don't see anything "Angry" in his statement.

He's just expressing an opinion that's apparently different than yours, so because of that, he gets called "Angry."

The new "Messiah" has one game under his belt and all the fartknockers are coming out of the closet. Don't say anything negative about "The M" or you'll be labeled "Angry" or a racist. (Just wait....that's right around the corner and yall know all the little libtard snowflakes are jumping at the bit to spew it out)

Not statistically, but don’t let that stop you. We haven’t played a really good defense yet, so everyone needs to pump the brakes splitting hairs over our first four opponents.

I agree that finley is not the answer just yet. He will limit the offense rn.

But he exudes confidence and calm. He can be that guy in the future. As long as the coaches game plan around him and his capabilities then he will be great for LSU.

But as of right now i believe that brennan is the better QB. We will see, but I also think that best player plays. So if finley catches up to brennan and they are neck in neck then coach has some decisions to make and the qb room and team deserves a by week qb competition until something is definitive.

I don't know about all that, but I doubt that, at this time, that TJ is a better QB for LSU than is Myles. It is as simple as that.

Messiah? I just think he has better touch, internal clock, and opens up the RPO of the offense more than Brennan.

The Messiah is a Cincinnati Bengal.
