It is a long, but interesting read.
Thank You Coach Miles
Thank You Coach Miles
quote:
Losing the 2011 National Championship game and the press conference that followed gave birth to conspiracy after conspiracy about how everything went so wrong that day. I am not going to address that situation today, as I have written the full 100% truth MULTIPLE TIMES, and it is your choice whether or not to believe. Rather, I bring this up to point out the perception it created- that I hated Coach Miles and that surely I would be happy in his time of sorrow. This could not be further from the truth.
quote:
What I do feel is a huge sense of gratitude and the utmost respect for the man, who was the architect of teams that allowed me to have the most astonishing, adventurous, and intense experiences of my life.
quote:
Despite the fact that I still disagree with some of the decisions that were made, despite the fact that I wish some situations had played out differently, I owe the vast majority of the most formidable years of my life to Coach Les Miles.
quote:
Coach Miles not only did an excellent job of carrying the torch in the immediate post Saban era, but then managed to make the program his own and once again reach a national championship.
quote:
So in the end, despite my disagreements, despite my past disappointments, in my mind the good vastly outweighs the bad. I am grateful to the man who had such a voracious “want for victory” and for the man who created such a “quality” environment in which my former teammates and myself were allowed to flourish.

What did he write about in the past and disagree with?

A player told me T-Bob's story was complete BS. He had a few beers in him that night, and let me know the rumored story was closer to the truth

If there was ever a time for him to come out and spill the beans, this would be it. The truth is that the players had practiced and schemed one way for weeks, then went a completely different direction during the game. They also wish Lee could have come in but will simultaneously tell you that they don't think it would have mattered.
As for why Miles went that way, who knows?

I've posted it before, but a family member of Tahj Jones that I worked with said Tahj told him there wasn't any revolt or argument at halftime.
I asked in the week following that game, and the only thing out of the ordinary is that Miles did change the game plan the offense had been working on for that month prior to the game, and no explanation was ever given.

speaking of, does anyone have an update on him after he got shot?

T-Bob sure had some a pretty wide diversity of male role models in Bobby Hebert and Les Miles.
