Swag, who's the leader? where does it come from?

I read a reference to "swag" on another post and thought it was worth a mention. I've been thinking it's been missing, or worse, forced by this years team. I think we're playing fine and have the most,if not second most, talent in the country. However the swag on this team doesn't seem as natural as it did last year. Two theories, a. After whooping up on Oregon,WVU,Miss ST. early last year it was evident that we were the biz. Or b., Tryann and yes, Jordan Jefferson, we're in fact the leaders of last years team. I hear Big Sam is stepping up and to me Ware seems like the obvious choice on O if Mett cant play the part. Thoughts?

You can feel TM7 missing from the team. There's no denying it.

You could actually do it right now and will probably have more replies by the morning.

This year's team is a blue collar team. Lunchbox, meat, and potatoes type group. Last year was alot more talk and pushing the hype machine.
Personally, I think this year's team is more dangerous. The quiet teams you think are down are the ones that are still standing when the season ends.
Both are effective, both have gotten us wins. What we need to realize is that this is not last year's team. It is different, with different dynamics, different strengths, and different personalities. Last year's team and fanbase took after HB7 (talking shite and ballin). This year's team is taking after SM99 and Reid (head down and grinding 100% with minimal talk).

another thought. watching les last year even in the preseason nat'l interviews, he seemed to have a confident, almost cocky, shite eatin grin on his face like he knew what was about to happen. i dont sense that this year from him.

Les in 2011 reminded me a lot of swaggy ballsy 2007 Les in press conferences.

Yeah defense is legit but TM7 definately brought the swag that we are missing

There is no doubt we miss TM. Last year when we played the ducks to start the season we were coming off the shady's incident. That class was sr. And Jr. Heavy. The team rallied and fed off of tm's big plays and lee came through as a senior qb , throwing but one interception before Bama. Jj definitely brought swag and did save many drives with his feet. I don't see this team as good as last years team right now. Last year we had two national award winners on defense with one being a heisman finalist. We don't have that this year and I think we will be very lucky, and very well coached, if we win a sec championship this year or especially a national championship. I think the team is very young now, especially without Faulk and TM.

Someone will step up and fill the shoes. Too many young guys wanting to make a name for themselves.

Yes sir,I do have faith.
I do also see how big of a game changer TM was and many times he almost single handedly broke games wide open with his takeaways and ability to return punts for great field position. He was a spark plug that lit the fire on this team. I don't think you can replace a once in a generation playmaker like he is.
I believe in clm. I believe he can find ways to win. A behind the back flip to the kicker, a fake punt, an end around on fourth and one, five for five on fourth down, a thirty yard td strike with seconds left when a field goal can win it and many more great big brass nuts calls have taught me to never doubt clm's ability to pull out a win.
I see the players that have been removed from this year's team , for one reason or another, and notice that we have definitely taken a hit, especially in leadership. I hope clm can find a way to get the new team leaders to step up before we go to tamu and fl and welcome usce and Bama.

Waiting for the Rantards to wake up and discuss the hate for the word "swag"...
But it is confidence.
Wing comes to mind after last year's punt fake and so-called taunting. Followed by his on camera close up from the sideline the following week taking pictures with the fans...during the game. That's the cocky and fun swag...
But I also see a passionate, intense, "FU" type of swag coming from Sam and Freak. From the pre-game tunnel chant "We gonna tear this MF down" to the roar they let out after a big play..
It's still there. We've still got it.

Brad wing is our swag leader.
Am I the only one who looks for him to take off every time he punts?
