matt mauck proved you don't have to be a great QB if you have a great defense on your team

No doubt the Defense was the driving force to a National Championship, Mauck still threw for an LSU record 28 TD's in one season and almost 3,000 yards.

JLee didn't fizzle at Auburn.

Seriously, can we leave the kid alone? He was a RSFR starting in the SEC.

The #1 overall draft pick did the same thing.

The difference between the 2, besides the fact that russell can throw the ball 80 yards like it's nothing, is that there wasn't a situation where you had someone come in and do just as good as russell, plus russell didn't throw as many picks and we won. Winning always makes imperfections allowable. If we wouldn't have been winning the next year, we would have put flynn in, same goes for the year we won it all. If we wouldn't have been winning, perriloux would have been brought in

You are correct. He didn't fizzle. Brought us from behind. But he did throw an amazingly bad pick 6 that put us behind in the first place.

which is why i started my post with the defense was the driving force. Mauck wasnt there to win games, he was there to manage games because the D was so good. 28tds and 3000 yds and 64% completion percentage has only been done by not even a handful of QB's in the 100 year history. If thats terrible, i will take terrible and another BCS trophy any day

Immature geeks echo what they hear from their peer group: they have a supreme desire to please their peer group.

When you tell a J.Lee joke on the RANT, that proves you are a card carrying RANTard and an insecure geek who wants to be accepted by other RANTard geeks.

Yep.

Does it really at all matter who starts???

You're talking about the QB spot right? Uhh, I'd say that it does. You can trust Miles and Crowton all day to make the right calls, but pick 6 after pick 6 put a damper on that.

he did outplay hatch in the spring.

Well..I went to the spring game last year...and Hatch played 10 times better than JLee. I think that had a lot to do with who got the start in the fall.
