Yes he is. I'm excited to watch him ball in 2017.

He's a step up from serviceable. He doesn't have amazing physical tools, but he is accurate when he has time, has enough speed to move around in the pocket and escape the rush, and best of all, he's smart. He reads defenses pretty well, and is able to check down to options 2, 3, or 4. Sadly, most of our recent QBs haven't been able to handle that last item.

Ensminger did a pretty good job using Etling, but he isn't as creative as Canada is. He strikes me as the kind of OC who will know exactly what to do with a guy like Etling to hide his deficiencies and maximize his strengths.

Unless someone else make a big move this offseason, I am betting Etling starts next year because of his ability to read defenses. I think he could be better than Nathan Peterman was running Canada's offense at Pitt.
