no reason whatsoever for anyone to be upset over this

Referring to the recruits at the game, I hope they were caught right in the middle of it all. They'd probably sign a commitment letter on the spot if they were allowed to do so.

But there always are people who are, and I feel sorry for anyone that has to hang out with them. It's an experience that is something you as a fan will always remember

And of course The Revielle is bashing the students for it.

For me, this is the core of it…
He nailed it. It was all spur of the moment….a reaction triggered by a very emotional and hard fought game.

The win over Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium triggered an emotional outburst that felt spontaneous and genuine. This was not a preconceived, contrived display by the LSU students and all the others who joined in. Instead, it was the legitimate celebration and rebirth of a season that appeared all but lost.

LSU wanted the students to rush the field.
Over the years in the student section when there was a close game were we beat a ranked opponent, a mass of cops would always funnel to place themselves in front of the student section to make sure they knew not to rush the field.
This time, the police funneled to the goal posts but allowed the students to do as they please.

He absolutely nailed it!

Let the fans run on the field. Allow this moment to be maximized. The sea of humanity that engulfed the field has produced some of the greatest photographs I've ever seen taken at a sporting event. The shot of LSU freshman wide receiver Trey Quinn crowd surfing in particular, like the game, is one for the ages. What college football should be is all captured in that one photo - youth, fun, excitement and happiness. The post-game visuals broadcast around the world on ESPN were likewise priceless. What a colorful and passionate scene this was for all to view.

The feeling I had was very similar to Jac. This wasn't the type of rush the field where people go straight to the goalposts... This was the type of rush the field where you go on the field and throw your arms around the players neck and give them a big kiss on the mouth... If your a girl.
I think the fans played such a big part in this win it was fitting for players and fans to celebrate the victory together on the field.
Was very happy the goal post stayed up. It was just people being happy with other people.

When I was a student 25 years ago, the running joke (which really wasn't a joke) was that the only reason anyone picked up a copy was to do the crossword puzzle. I bet things haven't changed much.

Well screw The Revielle, seriously!

Jac and SouthofSouth nails it. Exactly my feelings. There was a genuine connection that happened between this team and the student section. It was a sight to behold.

I was involved in a court storming when I was in high school. It is by far the most memorable thing that happened to me sports related. I can only image what it much feel like with something like what happened saturday. If i were a recruit I probably would have signed on the spot. And for those people who are upset about it.....get off my lawn, and deal with it.

Incorrect. I was on the first row, and they were standing right in front of us. They put up a fight for about 30 seconds and then retreated to protect the goal posts. They were in good spirits about it though.
