UGA is definitely the most complete D we'll face all year. Auburn had the studs up front but a weaker secondary, UF had the DB's but a banged up front 7, UGA will be more complete than either of those.

That said, the best QB they've faced is Trask, he's good, but he isn't Joe Burrow. And they haven't seen anything like Ja'Marr Chase.

They'll slow us down for sure, but we have too many weapons to be completely stopped. The game will be won on the other side of the ball - if UGA, down two WR's and a banged up Swift can still move the ball against our D, who seems to have stepped it up a notch in the last two games.

Thanks - would love to see the defensive numbers for LSU and GA and see how those compare.

One of the more telling stats I have come across is something I posted earlier regarding scoring defense by half.

LSU defense is ranked 10th in the nation in scoring defense in the first half of games only giving up 8.8 points. By comparison, Georgia is ranked 5th giving up 5.5. It's only the second half where they struggle. LSU is ranked 74th giving up 14 and Georgia is 1st only giving up 4.1 points per game.

I would imagine the second half issues have something to do with possibly losing focus (since LSU jumps on teams early), maybe a lack of depth at certain positions, rotating younger players in for PT, or a combination of all 3.

I hope the A&M game was a preview of what they are capable of when the play focused for 60 minutes.

Here are the second-half points allowed, by game:
Vandy 0
Tenn 0
Ark State 0
ND 7
Tenn 0
South Carolina 0
UK 0
Florida 14
Missouri 0
Auburn 14
Texas A&M 10
G Tech 0

UGA has been incredible in the second half at shutting out bad teams that were getting blown out.

They've been not nearly as impressive at stopping decent teams in competitive games.

Basically, when a good team has switched in to "need to score here" mode, they've been able to do so.

Unfortunately for UGA, LSU is always in "need to score here" mode.

Agree with you on Georgia in the second half....they have been nasty but some teams have gotten to them in the second half.

Has it been because the teams went more up tempo? Sorry I live overseas and haven't seen much of Georgia games.

Great job of compiling.

To me, this serves to quantify the narrative that UGA is a great defense, while LSU is a great offense and that the two will meet in the middle somewhere.

Meaning, even though UGA may have played mostly bad offenses, the fact remains that they still held all of those offenses to well below their season per gm. avg. (with the exception of TN); while LSU racked up a considerable amount of yardage against opposing defenses well above that team's season per gm. avg. given up.

Therefore, if things go to chalk, LSU, while maybe not going crazy on offense, will still manage to get somewhere in the neighborhood of their per game avg. or just below it and end up with somewhere around 30 pts. for the game; while UGA will do an admirable job on defense, but not have the firepower on offense to keep pace.

I predict LSU 34 - UGA 20

I didn't watch all of them, but I think it's being more aggressive generally (passing more, playing with 4 downs, working quickly if not actual "hurry-up").

Auburn, A&M and Florida all barely ran the ball at all on their scoring drives.
