Maybe after we lose 2 or 3 in a row he can come back for a couple farewell games with the interim coach.

The bigger question I have is when did he hurt his foot.

He was out the entire fall camp.

If it was June/July and he didn't opt for surgery then to give him more of a chance to come back this season than that is fricked up.

The doomcasting for Stingley to opt out is so hilarious because every single person doing it will subsequently melt if it were to happen

It’s like the melt before the melt

Surgery is always the last option. Looks like they tried to let it heal on it's own then he re-injured it.

There’s about as good of a chance of Stingley coming back as there is of O coaching the team next season.

Huh? He probably injured it earlier and tried to rehab it without surgery and thus miss fall camp but be able to play to start the season. This sort of thing happens frequently with athletes.

I’m confused. Stingley left with an injury in practice, was said to have reinjured his foot, has worn a boot on the sidelines, and now has had surgery on said foot and people are still melting/coming up with conspiracies that he doesn’t want to play?

Stop projecting your butt hurt from Fournette, Chase, Marshall, etc. This is a totally different situation.

He clearly should've seen a doctor and got other opinions. He most likely knew he couldn't go a full season once he got back in pads.

I don't blame him because this season is a wash and he's going to prepare for the draft.

But I do think it's skeptical that he didn't get surgery sooner to actually have a chance to come back 100%. He said in his own comment on OP he hopes to be back this season. We all know that's not gonna happen. Had he had surgery sooner though he would be able to.

Man, this kid must really want to quit on his team if he had a phony surgery on a non injury just to have an excuse to sit out. Maybe some of these jackasses on tRant can shut the hell up now.

It's not just the #7. LSU has had a really bad streak with star players who have phenomenal Fr and/or So years, then injured or otherwise limited their Jr year.

Stingley, Chase, Delpit, Key, Guice, Fournette, Mathieu, etc.

I’ve been dealing with a foot injury for about the last two months that’s kept me from running. I feel for him, it’s a tough part of the body to recover.
