Prayers to Coack K, first and foremost.

It's not like he was going to be given total control of this offense. Because he hadn't even really been involved but for the short period of spring, this is like losing your hitting instructor in the majors. Had this happened next year, I would be a bit more worried even though some of his offense would be instilled. Les is just going to have to be the man.

I keep having flashbacks to the playcalling in the '06 Auburn game

And the OC for LSU in that game was the coach who is now the darling of all the national media, the one and only Jimbo Fisher.

Whoa, it's getting close to the time where my services are needed on the Rant...This meltdown needs to stop immediately...Now as for my opinion on the current staff shakeup at LSU. I will defer my thoughts & opinions to Max.

How many of them were Offensive Coordinators at major BCS schools? 0. Thank you, come again. Sorry, but those guys work under entirely different conditions than most of the rest of us.

Based on what evidence? A former offensive coordinator who has never called a play steps down for health reasons, and we are doomed?

If you think Jimbo was calling all those runs into the line that day, you need to take off your P&G glasses.

1st my prayers go out to Coach K and his family. These must be trying times. no money in the world could make up for this.

2nd....I too am a little concerned about Stud taking over but the real question is why didn't we promote Billy Gonzales. I thought that is why he was brought in. With SK still on staff he could be groomed and developed.

That's my real concern.

Maybe somebody can clear this up for me. I'm confused on why he can still coach QBs, but not be OC??

REALLY? Think about it for 1 minute.
The difference here is that of a manager versus a supervisor. The manager is responsible for all of the supervisors in the group. (The OC is responsible for all of the position coaches).

The supervisor is responsible for one smaller group. In this case, that would be the QB Coach. We have just a few QBs to teach, not an entire offense to manage, teach, install, etc.

Does that analogy make sense?

Best wishes to coach for his health.

Based on the fact that Leslie will now seize up and take control of the offense much like he did that game

As long as QB play improves I'm fine with this. I also think he contract needs to be reworked because paying a QB coach that much is....stupid.

Yeah, any other buffoons you want representing us? The Big O maybe? Maybe they can both show up drunk at a recruit's house.

Experience. Stud is the best possible option, in this extraordinary situation.
