Does anyone believe that IF tailgating were required to start later, more people would stay until later in the second half?

No.

You want people to stay, offer better in game experience, including updating the facilities and selling booze.

Televised games suck in the stands. A lot of standing around for commercial breaks. Cbs manages to stretch a 60 minute game into almost 4 hours.

Reasonably priced beer, reliable cell phone service, better updates on other games going on, and a more comprehensive/efficient post game traffic plan would all do wonders for getting people to stay later.

The sad truth is that the athletic dept doesn't care how late fans stay. Just pay your money for your ticket and TAF fees and shut up.

Sorry, I just wanna be in the stadium. I can make an argument for beer, but I can't imagine staring at Facebook during a football game. I don't need to be pacified with electronics. I can go without for 3 hours.

Biggest thing to me is hurry the damn game up. Too many game stoppages.

I have left one game early in my life*

As can I but some people cannot. Go to any event(sports, concerts, movies, parties, even dinner) and look around at how many are staring at their phones.

I'm with you.

I look at it this way. There are a limited number of opportunities in my life to see LSU play football in Tiger stadium. There are a whole lot more opportunities for me to sit at home, kick back in my Lazyboy, suck up some adult beverages and watch football on television. There is no place I'd rather be during football season than in Tiger stadium.

Also I'm made of sterner stuff than most of the whiney mamma's boys around here that can't take a little discomfort.

I just want to be able to check the score of other games. They are piss poor at updating the crowd with updates of other games, even during commercial breaks. How about we get some highlights from other SEC/big games during commercial breaks instead of whatever bullshite on the field announcement we have.

Instead, I'm left trying to pull up ESPN on my phone just to find out the result of the 2:30 sec games.

I'm with you but more bathrooms first. And I never leave early but that's everyone's own choice in my book.

I have been able to the bridge so much quicker the last couple of years since the new soccer dad lsu fans like leaving at the half. Staying for the whole game is so much better.

I believe if post-game tailgating were encouraged, fans would arrive on time, stay thru the 4th quarter, & campus exit traffic would be more manageable.

I'd like to know what percentage of fans left early from 1990 to the present. Bet it increases after 2003.

no...I think shortening the games would do the most for keeping people in the stands....it is damn hard to sit there for ten minutes at a time doing nothing while tv commercials run.
