Is the writer of that thesis related to Bo Rein, by chance? Rein is not a very common last name.

Speaking of which, maybe Bo Rein needs some kind of recognition on campus. The guy literally gave his life for LSU football.

He may have been one of the most corrupt state governors of all time and fricked Louisiana for a while he still did more for the university than almost anyone

He's already got his statue at the old State Capitol. That's close enough for government work.

As I recall there was supposedly a plan to also have statues of Bob Petit, Pete Maravich and woman player Simone Augustus eventually be next to Shaq's statue. Of course no deadline was mentioned andI haven't heard anything since.

Pete and skip are the only ones I want.

If Les continues at the rate he's going and retires from LSU he deserves one as well, but only if he retires here. I think you should have to be a lifer to get a statue

It should be none...Huey Long, seriously? Haven't we yet come to realize that he is our states version of Barry O. Not a lot of which to be proud when it comes to Huey.

Sherman raped, pillaged and burned his way to Savannah. I don't think that will happen. American History class may be in order here.

I think statues of coaches or players is a bit over the top. JMO. That takes hero worship to a whole new level.

A nice plaque with a summary of acheivements? Sure...

But a statue? LOL. They are athletes and coaches. They didn't find a cure for cancer or solve the national debt.
