I don’t know how real the Boutte to Alabama rumors are, but if he is considering going to Tuscaloosa he needs to consider this.

In Brennan’s three starts before injury in 2020, our best receiver had accumulated 424 yards receiving and 7 TDs. I don’t recall the exact position, but he was among the top 2-3 receivers if not #1. This was with a putrid Oline on a team replacing 8 offensive starters.

If his goal to be a premier All American type receiver, there’s no reason he can’t do that here. He, more than any player next year, has a chance to be a part of LSU’s problem, or our solution. I hope he stays and cements his LSU legacy and increases our chance to field an instant contender next year as Kelly continues to build a winning roster.

I don't know the young man personally but I think that he is being reasonable in his approach to evaluating his future. We did go through a major transition and I'm sure Bama has been all in his ear. He is staying through the spring to see how the pieces fall into place. I think Brennan coming back locks him in.

Kind of a bullshite approach. But take reps from other guys and then maybe I’ll stay.

They get more real for a lot of people every time they read it. So thank you for that.

(They’re not real. Stop it).

This is what NIL does. You are looking for pay and who can give it to you. I can't blame a kid for doing that, especially if it is coming from the best football program in the country, with a Heisman winning QB. This is not just about NIL but it is about NFL draft pick and getting stats. He doesn't know where his stats would be at LSU next season with so much flux, but he does know what numbers he would get at Bama.
Sure I would like homegrown talent to stay and stay committed to LSU but throwing NIL on top of the transfer portal is making this more difficult. It's easy to get mad at these kids and I am frustrated, but the NIL has done this and it is reality. I would imagine we all would be doing the same thing if we were able to.

Pretty sure Brennan’s best WR was far and away Terrace. Boutte didn’t really have his coming out party till later that season. If I recall correctly, it seemed like it started clicking for him around the Bama game actually.

How many receivers will they have at Bama if Boutte joins them? That would be at least 4 just from Louisiana. That's a lot of diva's yelling for the football.

On another note...How disgusting is the state of Alabama? They can't grow football players for crap!

If he leaves, it’s not because of potential stats. Even with max Johnson this year, he was on pace to win the biletnikoff

Is there any actual proof he’s talking to Bama?

This doesn’t help. This fan base is toxic. All an opposing team has to do is start a rumor that so and so is flirting with them, grown men come in here and tell the kid to suck dick, they show it to the kid and say “this is what your fan base thinks of you”, and it makes the kids decision just a little bit easier.

Exactly. The admins need to monitor this more closely and put an end to it, not just talk about stopping it.

It’s kinda crazy considering his stats at lsu were such that he was leading the country in TDs when he got hurt. This is a played out narrative about “stats”. The dude has been a baller here, he can’t possibly think his lsu performance has held him back come draft day.

Also set the SEC single game yards record his freshman year. If he leaves this is purely about being a groupie for a natty and probably more money.

Brennan certainly helps but AL has a returning Heisman winner on a team that will probably be gunning for a 3 peat and Saban's 9th National Championship.
Nobody, including the recruits, seem to care that AL already signed 5 WRs this week and will probably add Law to make it 6 WRs.

He doesn’t have to play to be a 1st round pick, next year. The scouts know what he is as a player, regardless of the “situation” at LSU. It’s a cop out. There’s one school you don’t leave lsu for, and that’s Alabama. None of the alumni’s who boast lsu would’ve done it. They just want an easy road to a championship. They’ve won without them. They’re going to a place that doesn’t need them. If they want the easy route to everything, their NFL careers aren’t going to be long.

I don’t get that logic. Draft scouts pull first round talent from all over the country. If you’re good, they will find you. Especially at LSU, where he’ll be the number one guy without a question. Why go to Bama and compete with all the other elite WRs they have? This is only about NIL money or trying to get a ring before going to the draft. That’s it
