Starting to think the 2016 recruiting class

May not make as big of an impact in 2016. It looks like Andre Anthony and Ed Alexander are not going to be cleared to enroll until August which sets them back. Then both safeties who I expected to compete for playing time, Monroe and Cam Lewis are recovering from offseason surgeries. Although this class will stack up against some of the best in the long run, we may not see the Freshmen impact like the last couple of years. Thoughts?

Way to stay positive my man!

I think you know very little

I disagree completely. Three freshmen have already made an impact in spring camp - WR Dee Anderson, LB Devin White, and CB Saivion Smith.
Then you have at least three more incoming who won't be denied PT - CB Kristian Fulton, DT Rashard Lawrence, and WR Drake Davis.
That's six freshmen who will make legit contributions this year.

They just may, takes time for these things to develop.
The two classes 2014, 2015 were stacked as is 2016 class. A 3 year run like no other and take a seat and watch this develop. With 2017 class looking good, if we can retain the juniors this year LSU will have the best team ever next year and this year will be fun to watch
Improved play at QB is all we need, Harris is a junior this year with experience and hopefully he stays for his senior year and if so look out

We don't need any of those four to be immediate impact players anyway. Getting them healthy and eligible will still be a big victory for the next few seasons

Lets just wait to see if they make it in. I think Anthony will get cleared, I'm more worried about Ed.

History tells us that 3 to 6 incoming freshman will have an impact. Who they are time and injuries will tell. Another 3 to 6 will contribute in a lessor way. Twelve will have little or no playing time. The real value of any class isn't really known until years 2,3 and, if they stay, 4.

We are stacked w/o 16's class (exception LB). I don't think Alexander & Anthony will take long to get up to speed once they are cleared to enroll.
A & A's late enrolling, doesn't change a thing!

It's not going to make a big impact this year because we returned almost everyone. That's the biggest reason.

There will be zero impact on offense unless that guard is an absolute monster.
On defense, Ed Alexander was never going to be a factor this year. Rashard Lawrence will be an early contributor. I expect him to be a stalwart in the two-deep from game one.
We'll also get linebacker help and secondary help from this class. In short, the 2016 class will contribute a lot on defense.

You're going to be very disappointed in the 2016 WRs' contribution this year. It will be zero. Maybe a total of five catches, and none in competitive games. There is just too much talent and experience in front of them. Dural, Dupre, Tyron, Jazz and Chark are not getting passed up by freshmen.
Hell, we had two NFL roster caliber receivers leave because they couldn't get on the field. And they knew the playbook.

Based on history, I have to agree with you. Special teams is where we typically see a few freshmen get their start. Would have been nice to see Monroe out there.
