So many things to consider..#1 can’t expect him to be 100% which will change his effectiveness.. he’s 2 days short of rest.. for a guy that has his freakish velocity, that’s a lot… I’m sure he’ll want the ball, I just hope his competitiveness doesn’t cause injury.. tough call

He’s a MLB caliber pitcher on a MLB pitcher’s rest. He will deal.

It's like the least "nutsy" call possible. It's an absolute no-brainer.

This will be a normal rest for MLB. This is actually pretty big for him in his stock on getting to the show this season.

Dude is on four days rest

Good God people. He's on a standard mlb starter rest today. 150 pitchers pitch on this amount of rest for 6 months.

Actually triple that number when you throw in the minors

It’s going to be ok. It’s not your fault.

I think people are having flashbacks to 2017 when we lost to FL in the championship series because we didn't have our best pitcher available. I know you have to get there, but this definitely feels like deja vu.

That’s the funniest thing I’ve read this week. As if todays game has any impact on his time as a pro. Wow man. You’re funny.

Jay has kept him on low pitch counts all year in preparation for a situation like this.

The freakout about rest is over the top on this board. During the regular season, you give your pitchers ideal rest. There are very few teams in the sport that can win a title without having pitchers go on shorter than normal rest. It's the playoffs.

Skenes has pitched on 5 days rest twice already this year:

Tennessee: 7IP / 5 Hits / 1 Run / 12 K's / 1 BB

Georgia: 7IP / 4 Hits / 2 Runs / 12 K's / 1 BB

His 100mph isn't as taxing on the body as Floyd's 95mph. His mechanics are effortless. His recovery time will be shorter than a guy like Floyd.

Y'all are acting like he's coming back in 2 days after throwing 150 pitches.
