Yep, nothing unusual about that schedule, other than the fact that Auburn and Florida aren't considered Top 10 teams right now.
Les Miles probably would have liked the "wow, what a tough schedule!" reaction from the fans. But he was expected to beat Bama at least half the time, and everyone else on the list annually, or it was a bad year.

am not a Virgin LSU schedule reader btw. I guess I am used to seeing a Vandy or a sucky Ole Miss or Kentucky team squeezed in there.
Ole Miss only sucked under Ed O . Otherwise, they've been solid to good.
Arkansas, outside of the post-Petrino collapse, is a perennial bowl team.
Tennessee is on the upswing, but they're the rotating SEC East team, and not as good as the UGA teams we've faced. Not as good as a couple of the SC teams, either.
Alabama is the same Bama team we've seen since Saban came.
A&M... Sumlin had them at the level we THINK Jimbo is going to get them; it's just that Johnny Football never beat LSU. They were supposed to at least once, that I remember.
Auburn and Florida are WAY worse than normal. They're usually Top 10 when we play them.
Again, the schedule is a normal SEC West schedule, we're just not where we are used to being. Get back to Top 5 or so, and that's a 6-1 stretch with a good resume, same as always.

Auburn and Tennessee still have something to prove, Florida hasn't exactly been tearing it up lately, and Kiffin starting over with an new QB and his consistency as HC has not exactly been his strong suit.
Lot's of questions at those schools too.

Going to need Emery and Kayshon Boutte healthy and be studs this year. If that happens we have a chance.

At least we get an easier matchup after Arkansas.

Sounds like some good games to watch.

Sports Illustrated predicts LSU will go 6-6. You think you’ll get your only 6 wins in that stretch?
I think LSU will finish better than 6-6.
