I think it's absolute horsesh*t that players won't have the opportunity to play every team within the conference.

*Within 4-5yrs.

Alleva is pissed.

quote:

Ross Dellenger ?@DellengerAdv

#LSU AD Joe Alleva: "Very disappointed leaders of the SEC disregard competitive advantage that permanent partners award to certain schools."

quote:

Ross Dellenger ?@DellengerAdv

Joe Alleva continued: "It is definitely an advantage that should not exist in such a great league." #LSU

quote:

Ross Dellenger ?@DellengerAdv

More Alleva: "We share all the revenue and expenses yet we cannot have a balanced, fair, equitable schedule."

quote:

Ross Dellenger ?@DellengerAdv

More Alleva: "LSU has played Florida and Georgia 19 times since 2000 and Bama has played them 8 times. Is that fair ?

not going to change anything at LSU we'll still play the good teams in a neutral site, and play the trash games here.

F'n Gumps!!! This is sickening! Hopefully keeping a mediocre UT team on their schedule will bite them in the a*s in the long run from a strength of schedule perspective...hopefully...but I'm sure the selection committee has already been given the "rules" which say that Alabama is the exception to every rule.

Alabama and Saban actually wanted to go to 9 SEC games to make the schedules more difficult. But yes, Tennessee wanted to keep Alabama and vice versa. Auburn wanted Georgia and vice versa. Then you have UK and MSU and Vandy and OM wanting to keep each other because they all feel like they can win those games each year.

ETA: Vote was actually 10-4 so two other teams were in support as well. I've never heard Florida complain about having LSU as it's opponent, they were probably a "Yes" vote.

Did anyone actually expect UA,AU,UGA & Tenn to breakup the rivalries?

It's not just those 4. It's pretty much everyone except LSU.

Ole Miss and Vandy, and Miss St and Kentucky also see each as other potential wins. Not to mention everyone likes the fact that either LSU or UF gets a guaranteed loss, which helps 6 teams every year in one of the two divisions.

So the race is on to see who can schedule Wake Forest, Virginia and Duke first?

Not sure why auburn/ Georgia and Bama/ Tennessee can't just keep their game and everyone else gets to rotate their non division games.

I want us to play all the sec east teams more often.
