Short Breakdown Summary of Orgeron's 2017 Tigers Spring Game - Lingering concerns about offense. LSU QB struggles continue. Running-back Guice will be one of nation's best. Defense will reload and be strong. Resembles the team that got Les Miles fired.

"LSU ranging from 12th to 20th, and unanimously third in the SEC West Division."

"Ed Orgeron's first spring did little to alleviate LSU fans' lingering concerns about the team's offense. Returning starting quarterback Danny Etling struggled mightily during the spring game, and then he underwent minor back surgery when spring practice was over. The bad news for new offensive coordinator Matt Canada: Neither Justin McMillan nor early enrollee Lowell Narcisse seemed ready to push Etling. In fact, Orgeron wants to see incoming freshman Myles Brennan play before he names a starter."

"How can you not root for Ed Orgeron? A Louisiana native son from humble roots who built himself back up as head-coaching material. This looks a lot like the team that got Les Miles fired. Example: quarterback issues. But tailback Derrius Guice and a usual athletic defense will put the Tigers in the mix."

"Former Pitt offensive coordinator Matt Canada showed off his use of pre-snap motion during LSU’s spring game, but QB Danny Etling showed little improvement. RB Derrius Guice will be one of the nation’s best. LSU must reload on defense, but should have a strong pass-rush with Arden Key and upstart Rashard Lawrence. The secondary is inexperienced; early enrollee Grant Delpit emerged as a potential starting safety."

Give me Aranda, a salty defense, and Guice.

We can win with this.

Find a couple play makers in the secondary (which we always do, we're DBU).

If quarterback play improves just a little bit (it has to at this point doesnt it?) we can compete with anyone.

I mean, I'm still reserving the right to be positive in my anticipation for the season. It's like we are constantly being told to go ahead and make other plans for Saturdays this Fall, and I'm just not gonna do that.

We are all fans first. I will always assume we have a playoff team until the first game ends. Then I reassess.

Its a very inaccurate phrase. Miles got Miles fired, not the team.

Correction - At this point, this team's issues, resemble the issues that got Les Miles fired.

10 years I've been reading this. A whole decade of my life. I think we're just one more season away before it can be be put to rest.

Well, it has to be comprised of approximately 80% the same players.

I really can't argue with that article.

We aren't better until we show that we are better.

We had all of that + Fournette last season... and still lost 4 games

If Miles was still here then sure I agree, but this is a new regime. At least its something different to put our hope in.

I'll cling to the hope that Canada might actually be able to get more out of the personnel than the previous regime. Do we try to run more than 60 plays a game? Do we play down to competition or play up to potential?

Our WRs and OL are weaker than usual. But if Canada is worth his contract, he'll work around those weaknesses and still produce.

Fournette was hurt, and lets be honest we should have never lost Auburn Florida or Wisconsin, we quite literally threw those games. Still a loss and cant view it any other way but we still could have and should have won those games.
