Our backup RB Devon Moore has been as solid as Richardson with his carries so far.
With regards to the recievers 6 foot 5 Red shirt freshman Brian Quick should be able to replace Hans Batchion and Coco Hillary/James Hill should be the speed threat replacing Dexter Jackson

On the Oline we are only losing 2 starters, only 1 from the Michigan game(our freshman center started it because our senior was injured)

Interesting to see someone on this board actually talking about people on our team and actual talking points instead of just smack or the obligatory

I've followed IAA football for a little while now. Georgia Southern and App State in specific.

And you do lose 3/5 starters on the Oline. I checked through several games to make sure and you do in fact lose 3/5. All 3 interior lineman.

Delaware game
LINK /
C - Suttle, RG - J. Holt, LG - Kerry Brown

Citadel game fro much earlier in the year
LINK /
Same 3

So you do lose 3 starters on the O-Line.

Reguardless of what you think backups can fill or not fill. There's nothing "veteran" about losing 6 starters on offense. Including 3 playmakers and 3 lineman.

No you aren't.

NCAA:

Appalachian State

Total NCAA Team Championships: 2
men's championships: 2
women's championships: 0
coed championships: 0

Breakdown by Sport:
men's I-AA football: 2

Suttle didn't start the Michigan Game and we did fine with Irvin, a freshman

The freshman wasn't a starter last year, he FILLED IN for Suttle. So, once again, you lose 3/5 offensive line starters. Not 2.

negative...Were the ONLY champions the NCAA crowns in Division 1.

BCS is a seperate entity

Do you or do you not play in Division I Championship Subdivision? The NCAA does not hold a tournament/playoff for the Division I Bowl Subdivision. Therefore you are the NCAA Division I Championship Subdivision National Champs. Not the "Division I national champs".

They update it usually at the end of each academic year (so, very soon) once all sports for the year are played out. While the "official" name was changed to Bowl Subdivision and Championship Subdivision...that's lengthy, stupid and no one really says that.

RP started two games last year, was he the LSU starting QB?

Does anyone know the answer why the App St guys are constantly looking for some sort of validation? They have a good little program, are capable of making a few plays against LSU and Michigans of the world.

Question, how many App St players would start for LSU....if your answer is greater than 1-2 you are delusional.

Better contact the NCAA then.

BTW, where was Appy State in Total Defense during your epic run? You don't seem to be on the map.

Appguy you talk about all of your so called talent...yet you keep coming back to Edwards! Let me fill you in on something one guy does not make a team! LSU will contain him and probably crush hi at some point...LSU blitzes a lot more them UM. Your running game has no chance up the middle and only a marginal chance around the end...and this year i don't know if you even have a shot at that. UM let their guard down and fell behind they lost confidence and paid for it with poor play and even worse coaching! If you think this is going to happen on opening night in tiger stadium...i suggest you take a look at MOO state game last year for a template of what this game is going to look like. You will score, but you won't even sniff a lead and you will lose as you would against 3/4 of all BCS schools.

By the way if one game meant something then i guess Stanford is a power house because they toppled the Mighty USC!

You guys have a nice little program up in the hills. Be proud of your success at the Subdivision level but don't mistake that for consistently being able to play with the big boys. You are an opening creampuff on our schedule. No more.

So you agree he's NOT a "Returning starter", and you do in-fact lose 3/5 starting offensive lineman from last year?

You can't say a backup who started 1 or 2 games for a starter the previous year is a "Returning starter" the next year. If that were the case LSU would have about 35 returning starters on offense and defense

We do compete in the FCS. Unfortunatly the NCAA doesn't crown the FBS champion, the BCS does.
our tournament is run by the NCAA, not the BCS.
you are the BCS national Champions.
I agree that its weird but on the NCAA stuff(like our trophys) on our official stuff it says Division 1 football Champions and has since they changed it from 1-A/1-AA to FBS/FCS.
