Looking at the old pic from the helmet decal thread, what if we went back to the gray facemask?

Or is that too much of a change for y'all? Not a permanent thing, but more like a once a year throwback?

I would love more variety
Could attract more big time recruits and make us more like a modern team.
I mean I love the traditional yellow-white-yellow uniforms, but seeing it every game is getting kind of old.
Just my opinion.

LSU has the best helmet look in college football.

It does not need to be changed.

I would be ok with a "throwback game" helmet like the 1970's with the grey facemask and the slightly different helmet logo sticker we wore back then.

I support the throwback look. One game wear the Bert Jones era helmets with the gray facemask. Then another one wear the 1958 unis with the numbers on the helmet. Wouldn't require much trouble. Just switch to the gray facemask and change decals for both, then just wear jerseys with the numbers on the shoulders for the 1958 unis.

Leather helmets without facemask or no changes at all.

I wouldn't mind seeing just a purple stripe down the helmet.....not white with purple border tri-stripe.

completely agree. I've been a huge Tiger fan for decades, but our look hasn't changed since the mid-70s. Frankly, it's looking a bit tired and stale.

I'm all for maintaining our traditional look, but let's freshen it up a bit. And once a year, really shake it up (not like Oregon), but like those Nike uniforms we wore against Arkansas a few years back.

And to all those "purists" who don't want to change a thing, please note that in the last 3 years, we've changed the number font, the Tiger head logo, and the shoulder stripes. So change can happen.

I'd love to see some fresh looks with the uniforms. Like maybe try gold instead of yellow. I think recruits would think it fun.

I know there's a lot of crabby old bastards on the Rant who think LSUs uniforms were created on the 3rd day though. The same types who call everything but a run up the middle a "gimmick."

No, our uniforms only need to have white, purple and gold. No gray, no black, nothing else.

But change does not always mean good. See the number font.

The only alternate jersey we should use is the one from the 2011 Auburn game.

I was thinking a Chrome purple helmet with a chrome golden facemask for a game with our normal logo on the side.

I would welcome some gold on the uniforms instead of yellow

I would like to see us wear throwback uniforms for one game in response to another team wearing some flashy new uniforms. For example, if A&M ever showed up to play us in that chrome helmet..we come out in traditional throwback gear no last names

I don't support this, but are we talking pants too? It would be worse if we looked like the Saints with two different stripes.

I think what the purists are afraid of is a situation where we start making a few changes and people start running wild with it. Also, there was no reason to make these changes in the first place.

I know white jerseys at home are traditional, but I wish LSU wore purple jerseys for every home game. I get tired at looking at the white jerseys for 11 of 13 games every year. That would satisfy me. Otherwise, our uniforms are fine.
