I’d say he gets more of a pass because his weapons were nothing like what we have here at LSU. He also has better rushing stats than Max by far and he did have success his freshman year in his only other full season of play. That was when he had good weapons around him.

This post is so full of shite.
He had more weapons but played shittier defenses in the PAC 12.

People keep bringing up his freshman year in 2019.
Hell Ed Orgeron was at LsU winning a NC in 2019.
Alot changes in 3 years.
Daniels has regressed and the only reason people are saying he gets a pass is because he is in the running to be the starter here.
All these idiots on here bashed him when he was talking to Mizzou about transferring now those same idiots say he gets a pass or he is good.

This is a dumb observation, criticizing Max Johnson for an awesome play, on which he suddenly had a rusher right in his face as soon as he dropped back. He had no time to do anything but turn to run. When he did so he realized he’d be sacked within 1 second, so he flung the ball behind him to a spot he was looking at a moment before. The spot he chose was safe from an interception AND a grounding call. This was not just a good play; it was a great play.

Any other decision would have resulted in a sack or a turnover.

So the end justifies the means? Go watch a replay. It was 3rd and about 2 1/2. UCLA had a 6 man rush and the play called for all 3 LSU receivers patterns to be run between the right hash and the sideline. It's pretty hard to complete a pass against a nickel defense covering 3 receivers within 37.5% of the field and a 6 man rush. All Johnson had to do was to follow UCLA's right corner, recognize where the pressure was coming from and scramble to his left. It's an easy first down and MAYBE only one defender between him and the end zone. Instead he risks an interception in FG range instead of taking a sack at the UCLA 25 with the best kicker in the country on your sideline. That play was a typical Max Johnson. He struggled with pre-snap reads, pocket presence and decision making. Pure and simple.

Freshman year, JD was throwing to Brandon Aiyuk...who is a pretty salty receiver for the 49'ers. Daniels was much better throwing to that guy...which makes sense. Boutte should be similar....and thus I'd expect Daniels' stats to be better.

The receiver differwnce is ridiculous. Even Jaray would have been light years better than what daniels had at asu. Thats not a knock on my boy just saying that a guy that isnt even starting here as a senior is better than what he had. I still think Jaray goes to the nfl. Might be our most underrated player

Daniels isn't getting a pass. Daniels and Nuss are better than Brennan for the offense Kelly, Denbrock, and Sloan want to run. Myles quit. Get over your love affair with Myles.

Max didn't want to be an LSU Tiger and Jayden wants to be an LSU Tiger.

Max didn't want to compete for the starting QB position at LSU and thought he could walk into a situation where the competition would be easier. Turns out he may not beat out King. Tells a lot about Max.

Jayden beat UCLA and Max could not.

Kelly is riding with Jayden/Nuss and I'm riding with them. Kelly knows more about his team than I do I and I trust him. Keep hating on Daniels/Nuss, but I will support whoever LSU's QB is.

Jayden also had a running game.
He threw 3 Td and 0 InT in that game.

Kinda scary in the rest of the games he only threw 7 TD and 10 INT

You're full of shite.

If Myles was better than Daniels/Nuss who he would be QB1 here and he isn't. Kelly is going to play the QB who gives him the best chance to win. Kelly sees these guys every day in practice and yet you know more than he does about the QB position?

Give me a break. Myles quit. Get over it. Keep shitting on the players we currently have. Question the coach. Are you a Brennan fan or an LSU fan?

Not full of shite at all. I actually watched his film, which I am sure you have not.

He threw to Ayiuk and Darby his freshman season who were both NFL draft picks. He also had a running back that was drafted into the league, Eno Benjamin.

With our weapons he will be good for us. His regression also was with a shitshow of a coaching staff/situation…
It’s really not that hard to see.

Daniels/Nuss were good enough to beat out Brennan this fall. Don't like it too bad. Not your team.

According to you and others Brennan should be given the starting job because he came back and the 3 games he played in 2020.

When Brennan hit the portal how many how offers did he get? Nebraska? USM?

Finley ended up going to Auburn for crying out loud!

I trust Kelly more than you when it comes to judging QB talent.

You are going to be so pissed off when Daniels turns out to be really good aren’t you?

Your post didn't pan out as planned, did it? Or, perhaps you are trolling?

Planned out just as figured it would. People would make excuses let’s see….

Max threw 70 more times……….than JD but had almost 3 times the tds and half the ints

LSUs second string is more talented than ASU’ first string…..although this is close to being somewhat true still is completely made up.

No matter what stat you put up the JD wide eyed supporters because of the fact he can run will never see them. So yes it went exactly like I thought it would.

I’ve never had a love affair with Myles. I’ve said from the get go best qb to start I will cheer on gladly. Only thing that bothers me is how the board has anointed JD because he can run and use every excuse in the book to cover up his subpar year last year. Most excuses that could be used on Max or other QBs but are dismissed just like the one I brought up in this post.

Again have never done either. I personally think it’s always been a two qb system. Kelly is known for them I look to see it more than half the season before one out plays the other significantly or an injury occurs. Me pointing out a lackluster performance JD had last year in a lackluster league doesn’t mean I’m hating just saying simply what happened
