How so? Does one not issue a warrant if conclusive evidence against existed?

A video could show any of a thousand things, some of which would lead to arrests of people other than the players. The chief states he'd arrest the players if any video existed.

I could not believe what I heard. The police chief has heard 1 side of the story and saw pictures of the injured and from that he sounds like his mind is made up.that these young men are guilty and he knows what to charge the players with. Does the players side matter to the police chief?

Hypothetically speaking...

If you knew someone who has the alleged incident on video, would you report it? Or would you wait until the conclusion of the 2011/2012 season, then come forward?

You NEVER talk to the police. You let your attorney do that for you.....and you for damn sure don't snitch on anyone.

Well to defend the police chief the stories that are out there would say those 4 beat te other 4. So he's telling the truth.

The problem is why is the police chief commenting on a pending investigation. Don't they always say they dont comment on ongoing investigations?

If it implicates the players, then I think it would be a slight tarnish on our season after the fact.

If it doesn't implicate our players then no reason to hide it.

Probably release it either way.

White said investigators would be further along if there was more evidence rather than speculation and conflicting reports. "If we had conclusive evidence where we had video tape from an iPhone or something of that nature, it wouldn't be necessary [to investigate further]. We would go ahead and draw up the warrants and arrest the football players and book them," White said.
The coverup is well under way. I'm sure all the hush money has already been paid or is being distributed as we speak. Nice, quick and efficient work by the law firm of Chiles and Fisher. Will be nothing but slaps on the wrist in all of this.

Yeah, I read it.

But you ust have missed the part where he said 'arrest the individuals involved'; and instead turned his long, bony finger and pointed directly at unspecified football players

Yes, it's SHOCKING that the police chief said that if they had VIDEO evidence of the event they would arrest people.

No shite huh? "if we find video evidence of the incident then there would be no need for further investigation" BRPD HATES LSU!

People are arrested every day in BR without iPhone/video evidence..

Right?

As an Android user, I'm offended by his comments.

Well the fact that they have no evidence certainly isn't helping their investigation".

Relax! The same police chief also said "if the victims were not pressing charges, we would not be looking into this".

The fact that the Baton Rouge police department is dedicating so much time to this incident is beyond me. All I ever read about is how out of control the crime has gotten in BR, and they are hung up on this "investigation"? I use the term loosely because the statement made by the Chief pretty much sums up the capability of the department in my eyes.
