If LSU can't score some runs agains Tech's number 3 guy we might have more trouble than we thought. I just don't see many number three pitchers in the country being able to hold this lineup down.

Tech's starting pitching has been nothing less than outstanding the first 2 weekends. Their #3 guy has gone 12.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 16 K to 2 BB, .174 BAA...and yes, that's actually even worse than their first 2 starters.

Baylor has much worse pitching.

I want Gilbert staying in the pen all year. He's better suited for that role.

I think he should stay in the pin for now too. I like how things are going now, so I don't think we should change anything just yet.

Gilbert can do a lot of things. He can pitch in the 7th or 8th or he can come in in the 3rd or 4th when one of the starters inevitably has a bad game and can keep you in it to allow your offense to come back. I think he is the perfect guy for your bullpen.

I just find it crazy that he is throwing the ball so hard this year...

Hess has better stuff and he will likely be you ace next year.
Walker might be needed in the pen and if not could be the midweek guy.

Funny side story - Arkansas' ace pitcher this year only topped out at 90mph last season. His first start this year the radar gun at the park was registering 98-99mph for his fastballs. He was the talk of the day, until later on it was revealed and confirmed by Dave van Horn the gun was running hot by 4-5mph...

Still, a good improvement from 90 to 94-95 in 1 year, but man imagine seeing 98-99 on the gun and people telling you that

Did they throw one of these starters against Miss State?

Yes, Steven Gingery.

7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K, 2 BB

Gingery followed that up with this performance against Cal last weekend:

7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 7 K, 1 BB

You must not recall Hess' only bullpen appearance. He was obviously a lot more comfortable in the starters role.
