We will see this week and next whether this team has fighters. Personally I expect a much different approach to the game going forward. Take a deep breath and hopefully we will all enjoy the rest of the season.

We saw how much fight this team had when they gave up against State.

No we won't, this team could sleepwalk through Syracuse and win. We will know when they play Florida.

So we'll see against Syracuse and Troy? Ugh.

Come to think of it...you're right. the Rant, being as level headed as your typical 13 year old girl, will almost certainy back off the ledge after LSU looks good against two way over matched teams and suddenly the folks who were talking titles and wins against BAMA will be back in force.

Then Florida on the road...

Then talk of rebuilding again...

The real test comes at the next SEC game, though I agree with what you have said, this is still just another high level scrimmage, like the first two games

I like your style, TBoy. But have to say there aren't fighters on this team. No fire, no attitude no wild eyed swamp boys that are gonna suddenly come at you like a AIDs ridden pit bull. This has been manifesting for years, not new to just this team. We no longer are the "Fighting" Tigers.

Some discipline is what this team needs. O needs to show that he can do something about the penalty problem that he's yaw yawed about, but hasn't actually addressed.

He's digging his own grave if he allows it to go on any longer. With some actual accountability, this team can still have a great season.

Every fighter has a plan until they get hit in the mouth!

So what does that say about the fans on this board?

I'm not ready to pack it in yet. I think this team and it's coaches got a punch in the mouth. Let's see how they respond. I would be surprised if we see any more of what we saw Saturday night. Not saying we won't have a bad quarter or some bad plays, but I doubt a complete meltdown like this will occur again this season.

I sure hope so but if they can't get up to beat an SEC West opponent in prime time then I'm not sure they can get up for anyone else in the SEC. Will they beat Syracuse? Probably but Vegas had them as 7.5 favorites vs. MSU and that didn't work out too well.

Right now, I think we lose to UF, UT and Bama with a possible lost to TAMU. We are weak in the trenches and that isn't fixed overnight.

Coach O did great as interim coach, he was a friend to the players, both current and former, but it appears the current players have taken advantage of that friendship and are very undisciplined. Hope he makes the whole team run until they puke, makes them clean it up and then run some more. The penalties HAVE GOT TO STOP!

The 2017 LSU Tigers currently lack leadership. We will soon find out if anyone is going to step up and take that role. If not, we are in for a very long season and probably some lean years ahead.

The Swag is gone and we are soft in the trenches. The LSU brand is a not even a shadow of it's former self.

But we didn't get just punched in the mouth, we got beat down so bad it was embarrassing. A beat down like that causes psychological damage.
