I know he's not the most fiery guy (like Cannizaro), but something is definitely missing. Do you think his dad's death could be weighing so heavily on him that he lost the fire, even just temporarily?

He looks like he is completely miserable all the time.

No. I think our fans spend too much time trying to rationalize defeat by looking at our coaches demeanor

He’s pretty much looked like this 95% of his tenure. I do wonder if his dad’s death is weighing on him though.

Nothing new about that. He’s looked that way for years.

Maybe you're right - I may just be trying to rationalize this debacle unfolding before our very eyes.

He is disgusted with where we are.

I agree with the OP. Yes you can say he “has always looked miserable” but he seems to have no fire this year. It probably is due at least in part to his fathers death but it seems to be permeating the team. I don’t see many of them showing much emotion outside of Beloso. It feels like the whole team is just going through the motions.

And a lot of people are disgusted with him. His teams have no fire lately. Like it’s totally cool with them to lose to lesser teams. That’s a result of poor coaching.

I notice that about Tiger baseball fans who sit near me at the games.

He has been that way for a long time now. He usually looks nervous and tense during games.

That is a sign of someone who is not confident in what they are doing.

His dad just passed away and he’s been complacent before.

He doesn’t even have that this year. He’s just completely stoic.

Well it was just a midweek game. Paul knows those don’t count.

The pressure is real. He feels it. Not producing at LSU has to be miserable. It's a weight that has to be hard to deal with.

He and his Father were extremely close from what I’ve read. You combine this with the unusual mounting injuries & this adds up to a very stressful situation. I feel bad for him.

I do as well, but he needs to get it together. The team at this point is a direct reflection of its coach.

1/3 of his team to injury?

I like coaches with some fire, but to be honest, most baseball coaches aren't that animated in the dugout.
