Something has to change, Les missed the opportunity for it to be him.

For folks who follow this program closely, there have been a few constants in the Les Miles era. Some good like 4th down gambling, (Hester's 4th down conversions to beat Florida, fake punts or fg's that changed more than one game, Flynn to Byrd etc) and winning seasons. Some bad like the "clock it" fiasco at Ole Miss, penalties, inadequate QB play, and a seeming unwillingness to adapt and change his typical game plan.
Winning covers a multitude of sins, and we've won a lot. We just haven't won enough. It's not just Alabama, it's the other handful of games a year we lose as well. Not only that, it's how we are losing, and frankly I'm embarrassed after our last 3 games.
I wish that keeping Les was the answer, and it may be if our ceiling is 7-10 win seasons. If we want to compete for titles, I think it's time to move on. Les has had ample opportunity to prove that he can do that. The unfortunate reality is that he hasn't been able to, and LSU is now going to give that opportunity to someone else. Granted, that "someone else" does have some big shoes to fill and an even bigger charge in front of him.
Les is the kind of guy you love to hate, and I can recall a number of fond moments from his tenure. Likewise I can recall a number of wtf and not this again moments also. Sometimes it's just time to move on, and that time is now. Thanks Les, I'm proud to have called you a Tiger.

Everybody wants their "true story" heard and are posting so fast the front page is a blur.
And I just gave him a pity bump.

Thanks for the pity, and I think you are on to something there about everyone wanting to share their side of it. I've been in a self imposed TD retirement for a long time and this was big enough to get me to sign in. I wasn't going away without one bump even if it did earn me a casty.
Tduecen you can have the place back now... thanks for letting me stop by.

Fully agree. The national media have made LM a sideshow, Mad Hatter, grass eating, linguistics, etc. That they wouldn't dare do to Saban or Meyer.
Eventually this wears old. Miles had a great run, but risks losing his legacy if he pulls a Mack Brown.
But the Michigan and Arky power plays cost him mulligans he no longer can count on
