If basically says that if Miles is carried off the field and finishes 4th in the west, all assistants must toss his salad and pay him for the privilege

Alleva put in the contract that the contract would be terminated if Miles is no longer the head coach

Dumb, but Alleva has had it out for Miles ever since he pulled that Arkansas stunt

New coaching contracts state that assistants will only get 6 months of pay on their contract if the head coach is fired,rather than the entire amount remaining on the contract.

Exactly. The Miles clause essentially limits the buyout of an assistant coach if Miles is dismissed.
