This is a great deal for LSU. We have 3 straight home games, go play a mediocre Arkansas team, and then have another home game with UF, before playing Arm Tackling U to finish the season.

If we are winning an SEC championship this will be the year. We are still one of the most talented teams in the country if not the most. LF7 should be ready to roll vs Ole Miss and then has another week to rest before Bama.

If any of you thought we were going to compete for the West next year, you are delusional. We will lose a ton on both sides of the ball and thats not including juniors like Malachi who should stay but won't because of a coaching change. It will be a great year to see what kind of potential our new coach will have because next years team will still be competitive.

As far as only playing 3 home SEC games, suck it up. Arkansas and A&M play 3 SEC home games every other year. It will be fine. Everything goes back to normal in 2018.

i think it's a great win for Baton Rouge. a HUGE bonus and boost for the local economy to push some cash thru post-flood businesses

If your logic is we wont have many good players next year and will lose some players because of the coaching change... then how do you know we will be good in 2018?

Im not saying we wont be. Im just saying the logic isnt really consistent

I don't understand what people want.

Cancel the game - "WHAT THE frick!"
Play it on the road while cancelling USA game- "WHAT THE frick ALLEVA SHOW SOME BALLS! LOST REVENUE!"

Do people really think UF would have agreed to play this year AND next year in BR, making it 3 straight games here?

I'm honestly baffled by people.

Yeah, this was honestly the only scenario where LSU comes out the least scathed. the second they didn't play the game that week (screw Sankey), people should have known this was going to hurt LSU to some extent.

All I can say is if they think we have a legit shot at the west THIS year, this isn't a terrible move. That and I suppose the injection into the local economy of a home game was of greater importance this year because of the flooding.

I'm not thrilled but I don't hate it either. I hope we tentatively schedule USA for Dec. 03 just in case we're not in the SECCG.

We get an extra SEC home game. We lose one home game next year.

Florida loses two home games this year and bought out both of the other teams.

We got the better deal.

Next year is more important than catering to them in a nearly lost season

But whatever

It's not catering to them if they lose two home games and bought out both opponents. You people are retarded.

Florida bought out one team, just like us. This was THEIR mess, though.

Sucks to be a Florida season ticket holder this year.

USC, Kentucky, Mizzou, North Texas, and Umass for their home games this year.

What's delusional is conceding our 2017 SEC West hopes a full year in advance, with no earthly idea of who the next coach will be and what recruits he will sign.

Nobody knows how this year will finish much less 2017. Hell we don't even know who the staff will be in 2017 and still have to beat at least two decent teams this year to be eligible for a bowl. At least LSU controls their own destiny to Atlanta assuming Auburn loses one more SEC game.
