TigerBait357 often provides some good analysis for softball threads (recruits, game analysis etc.) but buyer beware on assuming all of the statements are facts and/or 100% accurate.
Just a few weeks ago he/she had Softball playing Minnesota next year and Washington in a 3 game series as well. Both are exactly 0% true, combined.

We all appreciate the updates and rational posts he/she brings. I'd say one of the best posters for softball. If he/she isn't a staff member he/she must have pretty decent sauces. But we all know how sauces can throw stuff on a wall knowing something will stick and be true.

Tigerbait357 I'm baffled how Stanford can't put together elite teams. It's a hot bed of the best players in the world over in Cali, plus it's Stanford!

Mulerider It's really simple economics. With the cost of tuition at Stanford and the limited softball scholarships it's almost impossible to build depth and have quality starters at every position.

Realistically speaking - you don't find out if you have been accepted academically into Stanford until pretty late in your high school academic career. That's a proven fact.

Combine that with how early recruits A) are being evaluated, B) taking unofficials, C) committing to scholarships as Fr/So. and bingo you have your first hurdle.

Stanford isn't playing anywhere near the same field in the academically/admissions department when they don't know if freshman Suzie (who hits .450 with 15 bomb scan) can even pass Algebra 1

Sorry but her actions speak otherwise. Since Quinn was a senior then the path is clear for Dawson to be an everyday player this coming year. What did she gain by going to Baylor? Lots of talented players have waited their turn in many sports.

She wanted to leave so that's her prerogative. Just don't try to sugar coat it with "she loves LSU." She obviously disagreed with the coaches decision and had ill feelings.

And the head coach at Baylor (Moore) coached Dawson's head coach at LSU.

Idk if I agree with you here. The reason that Nicky is transferring is solely based on Beth and the coaching staff. I don't understand how "her actions speak otherwise" in regards to a transfer. Plenty of people have left a school or a team via transfers and all sorts of reasons but still love that institution.

She was never in trouble at LSU, she was good academically, she was on time and never missed lifting sessions and practices. There is genuinely not one reason Beth and the staff should have treated her like shite. Not one. But Beth did. Beth lied to her and many other players about getting opportunities amongst bad mouthing them in private. I promise you this, unless Quinn and Sanchez (who will play 2nd next year, *Beth ain't benching Sanchez no matter what btw) were out for the year, Nicky would not have gotten an opportunity. It doesn't matter to Beth if she ran circles around those two in practice, in a game, and in the weight room. She did not and would not get a chance.

This could have been prevented but not with Beth at the helm. In business, management cannot behave one way for an organization and act a completely different way behind the scenes. Employees will eventually catch on and it could have a devastating affect on an organization. The same applies in sports IMO. Beth can say "opportunities, so valuable, best athlete, world class speed, great group of girls" all she wants in public but then proceed to treat individual players like shite and not expect there to be consequences.

That said, the Dawson family has contributed more to LSU and LSU athletics than most know. I can 1000% assure you that won't change whether Nicky is at LSU or not. They contributed to LSU years and years before Nicky got to Parkview and committed and they'll do it for years and years now that Nicky is at Baylor. They will continue to be at every LSU Football (home and away) event, and every other LSU sporting event they have the chance to attend. That will not change.

I seriously doubt all of things you just posted about treating her like shite and the family's donations and love toward LSU until I see concrete evidence. Seems you're just another one on here trying to spin more excuses for lack of playing time. I wish her well at BU and hope you all enjoy your trips to Wacko. George's is a great place to eat there...

I said we were looking to, I never said we were

There hasn't been an official release for next year schedule so we still don't know

No I am not always right I just share info that I know and hear. No one will always be 100% right all the time but I try my best to get accurate info.

I am in the same boat with giving Dawson and other some more opportunities but not playing someone doesn't qualify to me as "treating her like shite".

It sounds like Torina just abuses her players the way this term is thrown around

If anything for me was a question mark this season it was Cunningham only seeing two plate appearances the entire year. She was considered one of the top recruits coming out the 2016 class. She literally split 50/50 reps with Jaquish in the fall and all preseason. I don't know if she had some type of injury or she violated team rules but of everything this was the most confusing.

Sorry...I'm going to have to side with the coach who has gone to the world series 4 out of 6 years on this one. If a few kids don't enjoy the privilege of wearing a softball uniform for LSU and all that it entails, then it is their right to take their talents elsewhere. I'm going to bet that for every player the coach has "allegedly" treated like shite, there are 20 others who would take a bullet for her.

Apologies. You did say looking to.

Here to bring down your hopes because your source is wrong unless they meet neutral site.

I am sure we will have some major teams coming down to BR, we usually bring in big teams every year.

I usually don't get much info about scheduling just recruiting stuff.

We will likely see be back in Cali for the Mary Nutter Classic which we will see teams like UCLA and other big schools there.

Not a knock on Baylee Corbello but she was number 3 on the McNesse staff with less innings than our number 3, Smith. She was also in a weaker conference.
Maybe BT was correct in her evaluation.

When Selman left LSU for Baylor, her playing time dropped her junior year from when she was a sophomore at LSU.

It wasn't until this year (her senior year) that she became a full time starter.

People here were bitching about not using Selman much and losing her.

If Dawson would have been better she would have played...Period! Some people just feel that they are entitled and do not need to practice, etc

Whenever I spoke with Leftwhich the 3 names I always heard her rave about were Springfield, Doyle and Andrews. I heard these three specifically. From October to the begging of opening weekend. It was Doyle's and Springfield bat and Andrews defense that was constantly praised of the freshman.

Cunningham and Dawson were occasionally mention but not very much. They do love Cunningham defense, they think she is one of the best defensive players on the team, never heard a lot about her offense.

"Also coming from someone who is extremely close to the program and as someone who knows the entire staff and almost all managers and trainers and a lot of the players on a personal level. Beth Torina on the outskirts definitely looks like she plays favorites but she does significantly favor kids who work the hardest. We have had players transfer over the years for a couple reasons and many didn't see the time they wanted exactly for that reason. I'm not saying it applies to this specific situation but for all future recruits coming in, if you don't put in the work then don't bother coming. The staff doesn't put up with it at all.

I won't give names but a few players were constantly dismissed from practice this year for not coming prepared and because of their effort"

Sir, you are completely wrong. No one was "constantly dismissed from practices". Dawson was dismissed 0 times. Satchell 0 times. Smith - once when word leaked to Beth she was planning on transferring.

"I hate to say it, but good move by Dawson. This transfer has been known for quite some time but Dawson is not a social media starlet so it wasn't public until Baylor released it. I am not real sure why LSU didn't release it weeks ago when it happened. I seriously doubt we will hear any comment from her or her family regarding this situation.

The two infield transfers coming in are a result of her departure not the other way around.

Dawson was an upgrade at 2nd base from day 1 and should have been an immediate starter. This season, there was no competition for her position. She was told it was to difficult to bench Quinn so she would have to wait her turn and that production at that position didn't matter (this was apparent for the last 3 years).

It is one thing to be beat out, it is another to sit behind players who are not held to a production standard and are simply penciled in 'just because'. If Dawson would have been able to complete for a job and had been beat out she would not be transferring. The staff thought Dawson was purple and gold thru and thru and they could get by with whatever they wanted to do and she would always be around. She informed them otherwise at the end of the year. Total miss by the staff.

Dawson was never in trouble or any of the other things being thrown around. She was just put in an awful situation of not having a chance to compete for a job regardless of how well she performed and how poorly others performed. This would deflate any player. Dawson lost trust in the staff and it is easy to see why.

In retrospect, it is amazing she had the year that she did knowing, no matter what, she was not going to play. She still came out and battled without ever saying a word. I have much respect for her for that. It had to be incredibly difficult to go through this season under these circumstances.

Dawson loves LSU and her family love LSU but sometimes things don't work out and people have to make decisions to protect their interest. This was one of those situations. I wish her nothing but success at Baylor. The Bears got a good one." -

Coaches from other programs working LSU softball camps asked coaches, but also players about Dawson & Satchell (Smith as well I'm sure but there was film on her for them to review), there were more than a few players who told coaches that both were cheated. There was absolutely no reason either didn't play more, or start almost the entire season. If you can work your arse off every day and get minimal opportunities, why stay another year?

Again another snowflake that's upset that their darling didn't get the playing time. Just like the Presidential election... those that are upset that Trump won just throw fake news innuendos against the wall to see what sticks. So far nothing has stuck, so keep firing away and those of us who just enjoy the success of our program will keep laughing at you. Wonder how long before the Baylor boards are flooded with excuses why she left LSU. Hope she has an awesome career there as I like Glenn and his staff very much.
