Since no one started a softball thread I'll try.

Can someone help me understand something. First, does anyone know if Tidwel is injured? Beth, I am sure wants to win this game. But with a left hander starting for OM and who the girls had a tough go the first game, why is there 6 left handed batters in a row batting? And after the second baseman just muffed a grounder to help score a run or two, I think of Tidwell being a right handed hitter and her making that play at second.

Probably because Coffee went 2-3 against her on Thursday and has been hitting lately. This team already struggles badly to manufacture runs consistently.

The reality is Pleasants and Coffey are not great defenders but their bats are important. Honestly Coffee looks much more comfortable at 3B than 2B but Doyle isn't moving this year.

What about the 6 straight hitters who are left handed against that left hander of OM? That didn't make sense. Now there is a righty pitching which become an advantage. That left hander had Coffey's number today. I didn't realize Coffey did that against the lefty Thursday. She definitely is playing like a veteran.

Yea her and Andrews made some adjustments and got on base. Pleasants just couldn't drive them home last inning

Gutierrez probably establishing herself as starter from here on. Even when she went through her recent slump (0-10), she was still hitting the ball.

Yup

We got to do something about catcher. Maybe give Newland another shot at some point

softball players taking way too many strikes! Especially when you have runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs and you have the opportunity to go up by one. They just stood there watching pitch by pitch go by as a strike. Extremely frustrating watching them be so passive.

two future softball prospects on this team in Savoy and Bergeron. Bergeron will probably be an immediate starter at catcher when she arrives. She is the number one prospect in her class.

NDHS sets National Home Run Record

NDHS has some studs on that team. Glad we got Bergeron and Savoy.

I'd be all for offering Poncho as well

Most of the ones they were watching were actually balls. That ball is outside and a left handed batter couldn’t hit the pitch in that spot even if they swung

10 runners left on base. That is usually a killer.

Tigers need clutch hitting like that. They had opportunities but failed and it led to this extra inning.

Currently 9-4 Ole Miss in the top of the eighth so doesn’t look like we’ll sweep.

6-6 in the SEC puts us where we’ve been often at this point in the season. We probably finish anywhere from 13-11 to 11-13 in the SEC, host a regional, travel to a super. It would be a miracle for this team to make OKC. We lack the grit and competitiveness players like Walljasper, Hoover, and Bell contributed in the past. Speaking of Bianka, she’s the last Tiger hitter I remember who put the fear of god in opposing pitchers.

Tough schedule break. In a year where South Carolina and Mississippi State are both absolute patsies, we get neither and have to run into an Arkansas buzz saw instead.

Don’t know who down voted you. That’s how you win softball games. Aggressive hitters with power and pitching.

The pitching isn't Hoover and walljasper good to carry us and I don't think the offense is consistent enough either to put up a lot of runs on a regular basis. Its gonna be an uphill battle this year down the road.

Missouri, kentucky and Arkansas series will be tough. Auburn is the easier team left on schedule. Their pitching is really good but they have no offense.

You know with the facilities and the fact that Beth herself was a pitcher you would think that she could pick up a couple pitcher like Alabama and Florida has. Even several other SEC teams have found great pitching. LSU is having a hard time hitting all of them.

Oh, so now it’s the pitcher suck again! Lol, love how some on here flip flop on how good players, whether hitting or pitching are based on the, what have they done for me lately. Both Sunseri and Kilponen have been decent this year, both have had a rough game or two this year. Wickersham is still a dang good pitcher, just struggling with the command atm. At this point Gorsuch is what she is, she is having a rough year. When you look at both hitting and pitching stats, you do have to remember LSU has played probably THE toughest schedule of any team, which is going to definitely hurt stats of both hitters and pitchers.

It is going to be interesting to see if Torina decides to do the very difficult strength of schedule again in the future or go back to what they were previously, or go the super easy path like Kentucky has done this year.
