The team was so dominant earlier, maybe they can recapture something for postseason.

You put too much into all of the "confidence" levels of players you don't know & don't see every day at practice. You reference "confidence" constantly based on how you perceive what they are on a given day.

I don't want to argue much about this, but it is a fact that emotions and mento a state "confidence" is not something that automatically carry over from the practice field. Constance had been in a bad slump the last few weeks, it was the right move to bench her, probably for good, and definitely had better options for PH at that point in the game. Dylan and Alayna have filed in well this year there and would have been the better option. They have been asked to jump in there all year.

Hope the girls can get the bats going today! Hoover pitched a gem last night, by the way. Wonder who Beth will send to the mound this evening?

Not sure what the problem is, but we need to win at least one game of this series to get back some momentum going into the postseason.

I'll spell them out for you....

Bats have gone cold for AJ, Sahvannah, and we need more help in the field for our pitchers. Hoover and Walljasper are pitching great right now and Sellman is right there. With better defense behind them builds momentum for the rest of the team, whether it be hitting or put him staff. Beth needs to do some bring to get things turned around quickly or his season could come to an end shorter than most expect with this talent, albeit very young.

I would also like to see Dobson coaching third at all times. Another Beth brain fart last night at third not coaching Mccasland on what to do if the ball is hit to her side of the infield. No way she runs if Beth coaches that up to her. Especially since she hasn't played in many games. Terrible.

If we don't at least make it to a super regional, I don't see how you can't look at it as anything other than a huge choke job. Has D.D. Breaux joined the coaching staff all of a sudden?

I totally agree. I think we will somehow make a super, although not sure it will be in Tiger Park this year. They are young. They will give it their all here on out.. Just worried they may be a little exhausted come supers.

That being said... This team will be a top 5 program all year next year and should be a favorite to win it all.

Admittedly, I watch very little softball and the extent of what I know is reading the game stories.

My instinct is that Torina is a good coach, but my perception of her teams since she's been here is that they have been consistently inconsistent. Look to be legit contenders for stretches and then pretty mediocre for stretches.

I'm sorry but you are flat out wrong. Beth did not "send" McCasland there. In fact, if you go back and watch the film take a look at the body language of both Coach Torina and McCaslans after she is thrown out. The player went on her own. There was no motion to "come on over to 3rd on a candy hop to the SS."

Bats should come alive today. Hoping for the best for this team.

I sit on the third base side and clearly saw no hand motions. That has to be coached every time on what to do in that situation and clearly it wasn't and cost us a chance at a run. Beth is way too busy trying to see if she can get a glimpse of what pitch is being thrown. Instead, she should be more into what's going on with her team on the bases. Just my opinion. She has however made plenty of brain farts this year and I don't see why giving Dobson a chance over there might do some good.

It's all in the coaching. Being able to have the talent she has is the same in any sport. You get the best talent, and with the rise of the sport, you have to compete for months at a high level and I'm not sure Beth has that in her. It's tough to do and only the best can do it. Being able to get a team to rise out of a slump is tough but can be done. I hope she can pull it out. This team is going to be special next year.

Exactly 0 of the team's players would have made it to 3rd on that play without the SS going to 1st. That's clearly obvious. So why are you blaming Torina for "sending" McCasland, probably not in the Top Tier of speed on the team.......?

Beth can do nothing when the player brain farts in that moment. She's already halfway there, dead in the water. How many games has McCasland played in this year? Think it has anything to do with the fact that she isn't the team's best base running option? It was a bad play, yes. Griggs would have been gunned down at 1st by Fagan, yes. But blaming the base running there on Coach Torina is so far from the truth.

You made my point for me...how many games has Mccasland played in? That is why coaching her on to stay if the ball is hit to the left side, and go if the ball is grounded to the right. I'm just not all the way sold in Torina being able to get us to the promised land. We shall she.

Again, you assume it wasn't said or hasn't been said at practice (neither of which you are at on a daily basis). And even so, it's painfully obvious she should not have tried to advance.

You've changed your story now from "Beth sent her" to "Beth didn't tell her not to go" - which one is it, when both are wrong. Broadcast even says, "McCasland should have known her speed." That one isn't on Beth. Give it up.

You can't see the forest through the trees. Poor thing. It's all good. Hopefully the ladies will be ready tonight!

Some of you just need to take a chill pill and throw your computers in the Mississippi River.

Why do we get exhausted but Florida, Bama, Auburn, etc. can still find ways to win? We've unfortunately fallen into a slump at a really bad time. Carly pitched a great game last night and held Auburn's powerful offense in check. We just didn't give her any help at the plate, which was the same problem that Yvette's teams had time and time again.

Here with go with the typical LSU sports mantra....we'll be better next year. We are young, but Bama won the NC when Jackie Traina was just a sophomore. We have the talent, we just fall apart when the pressure is on.

Comparing her to anyone else is like comparing Ducote to anyone else that has played 3rd base at LSU. There isn't one. She was a special talent, but I understand your intelligence now. Thanks for the info. Keep posing!
