This is a legitimate concern. We were playing so well early on. Granted, we're playing a lot better teams now, but something just seems off. Our "fantastic four" pitching staff has turned into 2 above average and 2 average pitchers. We're having trouble stringing hits together, and as a result we're failing to take advantage of opportunities. Above all, we're making a lot more errors now, and that has got to be a concern for Beth and her staff.

Simple plays like Bell to Quinn on the force at second was dropped opened the gates for Missouri. Girls can't seem to focus with chilly temps like the home team can.

They made it to three straight WCWS before joining the SEC, would have been four but our ladies beat them in 2012 Supers

we went 4-1 against Florida and Oklahoma early on, who have we played that are "a lot better" now?

From I remember last night more than the cold and wet conditions was that Mizzou scored most, if not all of their runs with 2 outs. We'll have to close that door today and I believe we will.

It's still cloudy here this morning. I'll get out of the hotel to go to church here in Columbia and get a better feel of the weather conditions in a few minutes

Still not sure why Beth would ever bring in Corbello in relief. EVER. She isn't ready for that. Mid week starter at best. Sigh...

Then how do you explain the fact that we aren't playing as well now as we were early on? I assume that if we lose this series that there is no way that we can still win the regular season SEC title.

We aren't playing as well now as we were.

Mizzou and Kentucky are not as good as Florida and Oklahoma

I agree. I can see losing to UF, but the losses to UK and A&M were real disappointments, and the Moo State loss was a real head scratcher. I hope this team doesn't implode down the stretch like the gymnastics team did.

Kentucky had a ton of preseason hype. they're certainly a team that can surprise anyone on any given day. that's not exactly some epic upset. Plus it was freezing, and our team is from the South or California A&M game was ours until the ump didn't call strike three on Corbello's second batter, which was a blatantly obvious strike. two batters later was like a 3 run homer.

I'll agree the State game was very sloppy. We also shouldn't let Mizzou kick our arse.

I'm just trying to keep perspective that LSU's two best pitchers are freshmen, and they're not going to be elite in one season. I'm more concerned LSU isn't hitting the way it was previously. Andrews needs to step up

There are bound to be ups and downs throughout the season. They will host a regional regardless of how the rest of the season plays out. They still have a good amount of games before then to get back on track. It's not the end of the world.

I doubt they are letting anyone kick their arse. Mizzou simply did. You won't win them all. Maybe they pull the series out, maybe they don't. It doesn't change one thing except some provisional ranking.
