We have 3 less losses, a higher RPI and 2 wins @ Florida, same conference record YET Alabama ranked higher!

Not too surprised, we hit a rough stretch the last few games. I'm very encouraged by last night, though. We looked like the team I remember seeing for a good part of the season. I'd love to see us build on that for the coming week and the postseason.

I am not the least bit concerned about the polls. Like in baseball, the softball polls are meaningless. The important measuring stick is the RPI and LSU remained at #2 in the RPI this week…and that was released yesterday BEFORE we beat Missouri, whose RPI is top 10. We should be in excellent shape to be a top 8 seed and a super regional host, barring a total melt this weekend and the SEC Tournament.

We also beat Oklahoma two games to none and they are ranked higher than us. How they, along with Alabama, are ranked ahead of us makes no sense to me.

If we finish in the top 4 of the SEC, don't we get a bye into the SEC tournament quarters? What sucks is that Bama may backdoor their way into the SEC title if UF slips up against Mizzou.

None of this matters. Get a national seed and your good to go.

I am worried what a game against a #223 Southeastern La can do to our RPI, so I'm hoping for a rainout tomorrow.

I think winning 2 of 3 against Auburn locks us for a national seed. Losing all 3 and losing in the SEC tournament is the only thing that would worry me, but our rpi should stay between 2-3

This is the most BS rankings I have seen but baseball and softball rankings are voodoo rankings by voodoo people.

We have played such a strong schedule, one game against SLU won't hurt the RPI at all. Everyone plays a game or two like this. I think we need to play the game so that Corbello and/or Selman and/or Walljasper an get some time in the circle and get some confidence back, especially Corbello.

Like Grad posted earlier-LSU will be fine as long we take care of business. Win 2/3 against auburn and 1 in the SECT, then we're a stone cold lock.

We could probably even lose 2/3 to auburn and make the SECT finals to get a national seed. Gotta love the home field advantage we'll have

UL-Lafayette took an interesting approach to protecting their RPI this year. In their non-conference game contracts, they included a clause if the opposing team's RPI was under 100, the game would be canceled.

You'll notice game cancellations against Sam Houston and University of Houston.

Not sure if that is the right or wrong approach, but an interesting one that may eventually come back to haunt them if teams just stop scheduling them.
