I agree... I know she's supposed to protect, but that was way outside.... and let me clarify, I'm not saying that because of who the batter was.

I think there is one thing every one can agree on, college softball umpires NEED to be better. I mean go back to the supers with James Madison, that was horrific, and in a game that caliber. There seems to be no consistency and it really disrupts the flow of the game for both teams.

Totally agree. My high school team is 14-4 right now and I've only had one game where I wasn't pleased with the home plate umpire. Umpire assignments for college ball are so political. There are several high school umpires I know who have given up on their dream of calling college ball because they aren't the correct gender or won't play politics.
