I'm trying to remember the last time LSU gave up 59 points. I recall Florida scoring 56 or 58 on us.

Yeah.

A coach can only make up for so much. If your guys are getting pushed around, you're gonna have problems.

And, um, the zero in that 59-0 didn't help.

You're right, we should judge him by one game, and not his entire body of work.

Horrible hire.

Fire everyone.

Fine, but the flip side is that his defenses have held more teams to under 10 points in a game than any other team in the nation over the last 3 years.

Yup and he owned it, then they beat Auburn.

That offense was legit. No smoke and mirrors about it regardless of QB.

Let's remember that this guy was their OC.

asked a question you already knew the answer to...wtf does it matter...every dc has had games like this every once and a while.

you're talking about overreation yet you make this thread about one game.

I believe that was the game Melvin Gordon averaged less than 3 ypc, the offense gained 250 yards and turned the ball over 4 times.

I had a post typed out on another topic before it got deleted...

That game was a total anomaly. Prior to that drubbing, the last time Wisconsin lost by more than 10 points was in 2009.

Wisconsin typically finds themselves playing on an uneven field in terms of talent. They are a developmental program that simply does not reload to compete for national championships. They are a program that is reliant on a strong walk-on program and the development of players over the course of four- or five-years.

Sometimes, talent will simply prevail against teams like Wisconsin. While Dave Aranda was working with two- and three-star recruits on defense, Tom Herman was torching Wisconsin with four- and five-star recruits.

Give Wisconsin credit for coming back in bowls such as the Capital One (versus Auburn) and the Holiday Bowl (versus USC), where the talent differential was incredible, and come out victorious, despite these two programs underachieving.

Dave Aranda will be fine. I'm excited to see what he can do with four- and five-star talent.

Their offense gave them no help. It was a game full of 3 and outs and turnovers.

It was Cardale Jones' first game and there was no film on him and the offense was changed s lot to fit him.

That same squad destroyed Bama's defense.

The talent gap was enormous.

59 is less than 70, so we are on the right track
