dear gump in purple clothing,
the reason these last few games were close was b/c the players screwed up too many times (turnovers and costly penalties).

I give credit to the players. Playing their guts out, even when they shouldn't have too (example NC, TN, etc.). However no props whatsoever to Les. He is an idiot. A lucky idiot but an idiot. The reason the team has to lay it all out on the line so much is becuase of his management. So as most sportswriters are saying... the team is winning despite Les Miles...

Well Said...Totally agree

Do you know me? I am not miserable. Don't recall stating anything of the sort.

Sorry that he keeps winning and putting his team in position to win

HE? Les keeps putting us in positions to lose in games that should have been an LSU romp. HE isn't winning shite.

people still hate even when most you chicken littles never gave this team a shot.

Hate? Objective criticism is hate? There are not "negatigers" or "positigers", only "tigers. Asshats making statements about "hating" are the problem on this board. And giving this team a "shot", what the hell does that mean? This team makes their own "shot". And they have been doing a fantastic job even with the shackles of LM and JJ.

So seriously, pull your head out of your a...

That said, last night was also a pretty good demonstration of why I will never be a fan of the man's coaching style.
We played a dynamic and mostly dominating first half and then rode the brakes in the 2nd half and were a lucky bounce away from giving the game away to a team that had done basically nothing all night.

I'm pretty objective about the coaches. Preseason, I was, I suppose, a "positiger" but my post history will show I was critical of them this season. He stayed with Jefferson far too long and it held the team back. Lee has been the spark.

That being said, you are insane if you think last night's game was poorly coached. I'll grant you we got a little conservative on the play calling to start the 4th quarter, but overall it was a well-coached game and, I might add, CROWTON DID AN EXCELLENT JOB CALLING PLAYS.

The reason it was close was:
1. Jefferson's pick, returned to the 17. Killed a decent drive, swung momentum and gave them the ball in our red zone.

2. Peterson muffing a punt on our own 16. Again, giving them the ball in our red zone.

3. Horrible pass interference call on Jai that kept their drive going. They ended up with a TD instead of a FG attempt.

4. Some untimely penalties. Nevis' facemask in the first series. Not blaming Drake--it was inadvertent. But instead of 3rd and 12 at the 3, it's first down at the 20. Big play. The roughing the passer on Brooks that kept their drive going.

5. Special teams blowing it on Debose's kickoff return.

Now, you are free to argue that some of these reflect coaching. But that's only if you want to blame the coach instead of looking for the real reasons. Our players made some bad mistakes. The coaches put the players in the best position to win despite those mistakes.

Miles is just a brick, pure and simple. The team is winning despite him. Hey, as long as it keeps working, I guess we can keep paying him the money.

This

That was a well coached game on the LSU side of the ball, and in my opinion shows what a difference having decent QB play makes. Play calling looks way better when the plays are executed!

And before anyone starts with the 'why hasn't Lee played before now' stuff, let me say I have been a huge Jefferson critic since last year---- but he actually was decent last night and as much as I hate to say it there seems to be an advantage to having him in there some. Ridley runs much better with Jefferson in.

I find it ironic that, had we lost, PP and the special teams would have been the biggest reasons.

the guys like him and play hard for him and the team,we haven't had massive arrests cuz we get for the most part good people as well as ball players and Les may be an unconventional idiot but all he has done is beat 6 "genius" on the opposite side of the field. I don't understand his means but the end seems to work.

These guys deserve our support and besides,IT IS FUN and think about it, we could have lost two in a row and be wearing stained jorts this a.m.

I am for the Tigers!!!!

Miles team is doing quite well without them. Or as they say "In spite of", the Negatigers.

BS pure and simple. Consistent luck is not luck. The program is stacked with quality players that Miles recruits, there are very few character issues, bad actors are kicked off the team, and he wins.

All I said was that I didn't like his style. It seemed to me we got 26 points and tried to ride that to a win. I just don't like that philosophy. He's of course entitled to it, but I don't have to act like I like it.

And if I really wanted to talk about bad decisions, I would talk about the Lee/Jefferson thing, but obviously they had a gameplan and just stuck to it, so I'm not sure playing Jefferson didn't make sense.

Again, it was a great game and we dominated Florida except for scoreboard. That's something I thought we would never do under Miles. So I am definitely giving him credit for that.

So who is winning the games then? The players? I'd argue that someone had to coach them up right?
