LB coach at UH in 2003 when Briles was HC there. Maybe this is our UH HC. connection.

Don't want him near this program in any capacity. Also I hope you saw what a field day UH had just because some media guy spewed a false rumor about him being in the running for their HC position.

Downvote me if you must but Briles was more of a scapegoat than a knowing member of what was going on off the field. I'm sure he had knowledge but not to that extreme of an extent.

Administration as a whole was incompetent and I think it's sad his name is forever tarnished. I also feel bad for the victims, what terrible people to do such acts

Scapegoat or not, he is the head of the football program. What happens with the program is his fault.

Like this place taught me about Coach Miles.

Multiple players being arrested for sexual assault and rape and he has no knowledge? I don't believe it but that's a reason to never hire him too. No control of his team.

How much knowledge of rape does one need to be culpable in your eyes?

if you read the reports you will see many crimes were hidden/unreported for months. How should someone know of crimes they have no knowledge of? Should he have acted faster? Yes, but I don;t think he is some huge POS a la Paterno.

I understand what you mean but that's an assumption unless you know Baylor admins personally. Art briles already had a reputation. Great offensive mind but he is a flat out liar and I still don't believe he accepts responsibility. We are talking about rape. This isn't s few players getting free clothes. Zero accountability. Say what you want about CEO but I can't see him ignoring rape accusations after rape accusation like what happened in Waco. I'm sure there are plenty of people that share the blame of what happened in Waco but come on. Art Briles was in charge of that program. He is shielded from that info by design. That shite is intentional. He did not want to know. If he would have told Baylor to jump, they would have asked how high. The one person that could have taken control and done the right thing chose to play dumb. Anyone that thinks he was truly a scapegoat is naive.

Yep.

I looked at Aranda's bio and for the first time realized he had coached at UH. Made me curious to know whose staff he was own since UH has had a high turnover rate.

Surprised that some interpreted this as an endorsement of Briles. Nothing more than a trivia piece.

A person really actually typed this. And probably believes it and lives by it.

ETA: That you, Art?

God forbid we hire Art Briles and he turns around our offense.

I would hire him.

Even though breaking news is out that Briles is suing all parties and their moms for Slander and not being able to get a coaching job.
