Do we adjust for Kentucky's small ball approach?

Do we see more innings for Milazzo?

Do we see less for Joebert? I would give Pearson the starts, and maybe Stevenson gets some later innings. Joebert might send 1 or 2 over the fence, especially since Kentucky does not have any stud pitchers, but
Kentucky seems to take advantage of mistakes and he is iffy defensively.

My strategy would start with: no walks!

Challenging series for Tommy White (being as big as he is). I’m curious to see how well he handles the bunts and small ball from 3rd

I like the Milazzo approach. If they're gonna try to steal and bunt all day, let's make it tough for them. Milazzo's bat won't be anything elite but I can see him getting a few clutch singles off of Kentucky's weaker pitching.

As far as Jobert is concerned, I'd maybe? keep his bat in the lineup at DH, maybe LF? - I think moving Tre to 1B would be a good idea as I trust him to make more plays off of bunts (picking one hops from 3b specifically) more so than Bear Jones. Then again, I can see Bear having a tremendous weekend at the plate so I'd like to have his bat in the line up as well... tough choice

I think it will be an interesting lineup this weekend regardless with the LF/1B/DH scenarios

The average less than one sac bunt per game.

We really just need to not walk them or hit them, that will do 90% of the work.

Score early and strike out the leadoff batters.

Don't overthink the defense.

Neal can do all of that

Is it possible we see White DH and someone else at third this weekend?

White has held his own defensively
Maybe nippolt in at 3b
Interesting that white ended Tulane game at 1b

Pitching and fielding limit small ball's effectiveness if your team gets hits/scores runs.

Limit walks/HBP/errors and LSU handles this easily.

White came here to prove he can play 3B and not just DH. This is his prove it weekend. Jay's not taking him out.

Absolutely correct!!! Bunting a lot without base runners is not productive…..usually. But when the ball is in play anything can happen.

Jay Johnson always talks about producing a lineup that gives the best chance to win each individual game and against a team like Kentucky who plays small ball I would think White goes to DH and we see Nippolt or Merrifield at 3b. I think Jones will still be at 1b and Morgan in LF because he wants Jones and White in the lineup but honestly Morgan at 1b would probably also be better. I think Beloso sits out the lineup even as good as hes been at the plate.

First off, how does who is in the outfield relate to an offense that likes to bunt to generate runs? If anything we might put Morgan on first and Nippolt on third, and DH White. If CJJ goes that far with a level of concern. I don’t think he’s concerned enough to change personnel or give up the batting advantage to protect against bunting.

Whos in the outfield doesn't relate I was simply stating I think Morgan will still be in LF and Jones at 1B even though Morgan is probably the more suited 1B for this type of offense, I do not think he will go that deep into changes it was simply a far minded thought that could happen but unlikely.

In terms of actual results, has Jones booted the ball or failed to make plays that Morgan makes? I'm asking because I've not seen all the games.

Not really I think he missed one pick early in his playing days at 1b I thought Morgan would make but as far as quick / agile and those type of movements bunt plays makes an individual have to do would be hard at 6'6 225 or however big jones is. He may do great and make 0 errors it was just a thought.

I'm eager to see how LSU's defense responds to UK's style. There will be a lot of bunts and steal attempts. Pitchers, catchers, and corner infielders will definitely be challenged.

I'm hoping LSU can keep the errors to 4 or less this weekend.

Well, with his size he is rangy at 1B, a big target.

Almost all of our innings will be pitched by right handers, which makes me think they won't bunt to the 1st base side much, if at all.

Only lefties we have that might pitch an inning here and there are Coleman, Herring, and Cooper. Not sure what the status of Ack is.
