Slip Watkins, how would he compare to today's "track" guys?

For all you "triggered" youngsters, there was a RB/WR in late 1980's, Slip Watkins- dude had some real wheels, was key in 1988 after H Williams tore acl in last game in superdome in 87. Anyway, curious how his football speed and track speed would compare to today's track, football guys- and if anyone has any clips of the game where Slip had long TD pass (Cal Fullerton?) please post, I think he is still running!

Slip Watkins could run, but he had hands of stone.

If I remember right, 2nd only to Holliday and maybe Chris Cummings, He & Cummings both ran the 100m in the 10.1's (again, from memory). His speed was straight line only though, turned like a semi on a narrow road...but extremely fast.
This too!

Could run like a jet but couldn't catch a cold.

Don't recall his hands being that big an issue, but may have been one reason ho moved to RB, had some nice runs vs TN in Knoxvegas in our route of 1988...
