You got a guy sanctioning orgies with hookers and pounding some stranger in the back of a restaurant for 20 seconds, and I'm sure Dick and his wife know Pitino's wife.....yet Dick is begging for Rick to get another job and saying he believes him that he knew nothing about the orgies. But Dick is disgusted by Will Wade. This says it all.

It's because he is not a threat at McNeese. Dick Vitale did everything he could to destroy him while at LSU because he wasn't supposed to be winning and taking recruits from the big name schools. The second he steals a major recruit to McNeese that would change

Agreed, as I've said many times here....I think the NCAA stuff, we could have outlasted it had we circled the wagons and got out with minimal harm.
However, the PR campaign from Dick and Forde was never going to stop and everyone knew it. To think that had no part in this I think would be incorrect.

I still kind of hold out hope for this scenario. Wade take a job in LC seems bizarre to me. Perhaps (and yes I know this is extremely far fetched) there was some kind of “Just find something close and small and we’ll bring you back in a few years” scenario?

Wade and the McNeese AD have been tight for years from when he was the basketball coach there. That was part of it.
