SI - Orgeron impressed the decision-makers with his organization and his plans

SI - "Orgeron said he had "a glimmer of hope" even after the Fla. loss. Five days later, LSU crushed Texas A&M at Kyle Field and the idea of Coach Oeaux taking up permanent residence in Baton Rouge once again seemed plausible. Then came a Friday meeting with LSU officials, during which Orgeron impressed the decision-makers with his organization and his plans for the future. He'd prepared his entire life for that meeting, and it showed."
SI-" So can Orgeron bring the Tigers the championships they crave? He can recruit and inspire just as Miles did. He also has a top-flight defensive coordinator in Dave Aranda, whom Orgeron singled out in Saturday's press conference as someone who will stay in Baton Rouge. But what will LSU be on offense? From a purely athletic standpoint, the Tigers are loaded on that side of the ball. But they've underachieved dramatically. Saturday, Orgeron said something Miles never would have said while still LSU's coach. (But seems more than happy to say now that he's seeking employment.) "You have to run the spread offense," Orgeron said. "You have to have dual threat quarterbacks who can run it and throw it. But you have to have somebody who knows how to run it." Without taking a breath, Orgeron added that LSU would have to remain physical on that side of the ball and pointed out that tailback Derrius Guice will be back for at least one more year.

Ponamsky should never be allowed back in this state.

Who was he competing against for the job?

Yup...there are more 4/5* WR's than there our competent DB's to stop them in NCAA.
Plus it's easier fir a RB to stiff arm a nickel CB than a LB. Mix it up

That game was worse than the final score.
We started shuffling in backups on defense in the 4th and it showed.

The spread does not reflect how much LSU whipped dat Aggie asss. Just trust me, they don't want to play LSU again anytime soon.

I got downvoted, but they didn't answer my question. Seems about right.

Can someone please explain to me why Ponamsky and Culotta have such a monstrous hard on for Orgeron? I get the Hebert's and Detillier, but why these two?

his plans
Step 1: Don't ask for too much money.
Step 2: Sign contract.

Where were the Aggies ranked? LSU beat them by 2 TDs at their house. That's a solid win.

Because other schools of LSU's caliber weren't pursuing Orgeron, he'll be a relative bargain.
Just what you need when you want to elevate your program to the next level.
A "bargain".

He learned from Kiffin with Tennessee about how talking about big plans and dropping names on hires is more important than actual past performance or abilities or ethics. Tennessee got burned and so will LSU.

The question should be who would you prefer over him that can be swayed away from their current coaching job. When you think about it, Coach Orgeron was the best fit for LSU. He'll hire a top off. coord. and you will see why he's a good fit. The current LSU players love him, the former LSU players love him, the decision makers love his organization and recruiting skills. Great day to be a Tiger fan.

Yes ... all of the other Tier 2 schools ... in fact, all other schools period ... are laughing their fricking asses off at LSU for this hire...as they should be.
