LSU star Leonard Fournette is still the overwhelming favorite to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy, and another one of his closest pursuers suffered an injury that will likely take him out of the race.

Fournette is down to a 2/5 favorite according to Las Vegas sports book Bovada. However, Baylor quarterback Seth Russell - who was second behind Fournette last week - has a broken bone in his neck and is out for at least a month.

Another quarterback from the Big 12 Conference, TCU's Trevone Boykin, is now second behind Fournette with odds of 15/2. Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is third with 9/1 odds.

Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch makes his debut on the list this week, coming in with odds of 50/1 to take home the trophy following the 2015 season. You can see the complete odds below.

Barring injury, this award is Fournette's to lose.

They had that same headline for Geno Smith halfway through the 2012 season. Think about that.

While he's certainly the favorite right now, there's still so much football to be played.

He needs a big game at Bama. This will be the highest viewed game of the year.

Great game, it's over barring injury.

Average game and he could win it with a dominant performance against our last 3 opponents.

Bad game and it would be very, very tough.

A "heisman moment" would just be absolutely timeless if he had it on this stage.

Actually, that is not the way the tea leaves shape up. Really, Fournette AND LSU would have to collapse throughout November to make it a race.

True.

Heisman Running Backs have had some pretty bad games and still took home the trophy. Ingram, Walker, Bo.

On the biggest stage of the year against our toughest opponent, it would be really hard for him to win the Heisman if he had a straight up bad game.

Like 20 for 50 yards and no TDs or something.

I don't think that will happen obviously, but this game will have everyone in the country watching it.

Works both ways. He could have a Desmond moment and seal the deal.

7-0 LSU with LF7 vs. #7 on Nov. 7 = 7777. Is it a coincidence?

He needs to stay healthy and have a Heisman moment in an LSU win versus Bama. If he does that, he will win the Heisman. If Bama shuts him down, it will allow others, like Zek Elliot, to mount an assault on the trophy. Elliot is playing good ball right now.

Looking ahead after Bama, I think Fournette can run on OM but they are no pushover. He can certainly run on Texas A&M. Arkansas seems to be getting better too.

If he averages 130 and a TD over the remaining games and LSU is winning the majority of them, he will win it.

I also think LSU needs to go 3-1 over the next four for him to win it as well.

LF7 may just win the Heisman by the largest margin ever.
